Size - you either have it or you don't (gloves)

Post by Ken »

Hello all

What with it being winter and all, certain priorities are popping up (eg warm jacket, scarf, ect) and one of these is the issue of gloves.

I have some gloves, nice gloves, Wells Lamonts. They are good, they have distressed naturally: they look great.

But (you knew it was coming) there is one slight problem. They are a little on the large size. They are a size small. So this begs the question - do Wells Lamont make the 1130s in a size Extra Small? If so, can these be purchased in Wal Marts and the like or must they be ordered directly? Is there anyone out there who, if they were to happen to see a pair of extra small wells lamonts in a store, would ship them to the UK? Do all American's just have big hands?

Well seriously though, if anyone did see a pair I would be super grateful if they could send them to me and I would of course send payement to cover the cost including shipping and all.

Anyway here's hoping. :) Thanks guys

Ken

I don't know if this will help, but I once accidentally washed a pair of my 1130's in warm water and the dried them on a low heat. They were stuck in a pair of coveralls and I didn't know it until afterwards. Anyways, they shrunk too much for me to wear and had to throw them out.. You might want to try washing them in warm water then drying them on a low heat. It might shrink them just enough to fit you better. But do this at your own risk; mine was an accident and I've never tried it since.

To answer, no, Wells Lamont doesnt make an extra small glove, according to the website. My advice to you, is to try the ladies sizes, (please dont take that as an insult, its in no way meant to be) but they are smaller then mens, and Id bet my red money, the medium sized ladies would work for you...!

Hope this helps,

On the issue of shrinking I actually have already done this with my small Wells Lamonts and although it worked somewhat it is not quite sufficient. It does wonders for making them look weathered though.

Dont worry I am not offended at all - actually in the uk I found a very close pair of gloves to the wells lamont but they only exist in that style in the ladies version (I intend to post some pics later in the week).

So if the ladies gloves are exactly the same style, only smaller, would anyone hav e the courage to purchase a pair on my behalf?

Ken

PS - you think defenintly ladies medium and not ladies small?

I find the small wells lamont to be fine as far as the palm goes, but the fingers are too long. I may get a medium and wash them to see if this will even out the way they fit. Great suggestion.
I didn't know wells were available in womans sizes. Where would I find them? I can't even find the mens sizes
