Looks nice. Since you did not plait the handle at the bottom I would imagine that the broom handle will work for you. Unless it is too heavy.

Looks great. I would test the redhide fall out, but go with a nylon one. Just to keep the bad weather use aspect in place. I have been making my falls with a complete piece of paracord inside a hollow piece. I find it adds a little extra weight. I also gave up on using the inner-strands for poppers....

Superb looking whip. It looks like your fall still has plenty of life. Smother it in Pecard's (Just the fall) before each use and keep an eye on it. If the problem progresses simply cut off the lower few inches and re-tie the popper. You will find with more use and applications of Pecard's the fall ...
