Re: Why a 4" barrel?

Good research. Something I’d like to see changed, regarding the Indygear site about Bapty: https://www.indygear.com/igguns.html If you read the description when it gets to discussing the barrel, it puts forward a hypothesis that it had a later barrel swapped onto it. However, that’s not correct: wh...

Re: Why a 4" barrel?

This is pure speculation, but I personally think it likely that the Bapty gun came first, and that Stembridge took a commercial Model 1917 they had in inventory and shortened its barrel, and even gave the front sight a slight ramp. I think your assessment is right on the money. This was discussed a...

Here is another great contender for a modern-day Indy gun. Chambered in Indy's favorite .45 caliber and having a four-inch barrel, it is the perfect descendent to his original ROTLA S&W Hand Ejector. I present the Smith & Wesson Model 625-8 Performance Center Jerry Miculek 45 ACP Revolver!!...

How did you guys go about finishing the foresight to match the rest of the weathered bluing on your Bapty revolvers? Is that just cold bluing? Yep! I used Brownells Oxpho-Blue. It's a bit more "blackish blue" compared to some other cold blue that tends to be more "grayish green"...
