flightsuits raider jacket
Hi Guys. I don't post much but am always reading reviews and thoughts of COW members. Thinking of getting a new jacket for Christmas. Flightsuits raider/Macgyver type jacket intrigues me. Already have Westeds and too many A-2's. Does anyone have any experience w/ the Filightsuits raider? Appreciate ...

Do US Wings vintage cows have 3 piece sleeves?
Considering purchasing one of these in light of the holiday sale. I know some of the Wings jackets have the 3 piece sleeves and some don't. I don't really care for the 3 piece sleeves and that would probably sway my decision. Can anyone comment if the vintage cow has them?

I agree that it is amazing that Peter and the folks at Wested are getting the jackets out this quickly. Let me also say that this is not at the expense of quality. Everything about my jacket is top notch. I also know it simply was'nt pulled off a rack and shipped due to some mods like the zip on Ame...

Wested's crankin' em' out. Got my ToD in 2 weeks!!!
I was shocked when I saw other members get their jackets in 2 weeks. Well mine just came after a little over 2 weeks since the order. What a jacket!! :D I ordered the ToD style in horsehide, although I think Wested may have used kevlar  . Seriously, this leather is tough and substantially hea...

Just ordered Wested - question
I just ordered a Wested ToD a couple of days ago. I requested the zipper to be on the American side. I'm assuming that they automatically reverse the storm flap as well. Is this the case or do I need to request that also?

Can anyone attest to the total cost nowadays of the Wested with current exchange rates? I'm just taking about a regular jacket with no mods ect. with the shipping and customs factored in.

Tanning processes
I probably seem like the man of a thousand questions, but I have just one more . Honestly. Can anyone describe the differences between vegetable tanning and the chrome process? I see that Wested uses the veg. tanning while other vendors use chrome. Is one better than the other?

Why the extra 1" in front?
I am going to be ordering a Wested soon as a birthday gift. I want to get this jacket right when I place my order. I have noticed on the specs of some guys jackets that they get an extra inch added to the front. Why? Just curious.

Distressing of horsehide
I really like the look of Peters HH offerings, but am wondering as to how they will distress. I am a proponent of the natural distressing school of thought, but at the same time I don't want to have a jacket that I wear for years and years that still looks relatively new. Any thoughts from HH owners...

Any pics of US wings vip
Hi all,
I like the look of the wings VIP on their web site. I've also read some posts claiming that the leather is great. Anybody have any pics that could provide more insight into how it looks on someone?

Whats the difference in gussets?
Is there any difference in the movement allowed by two or one piece gussets? They both look as though they use the same amount of extra leather. Anybody have one of each type that can comment?

What up with an extra inch added to the front?
Hi all, Still have'nt odered my jacket yet as I want to make sure I do it right. I've seen some threads that mention an extra inch being added to the front of the jacket. Why is this done? I'm almost certainly ordering a ToD which is 1" longer anyway. Should I specify my order to have this adde...

Hi again everybody, I just about have nailed down the wested I pland to order( ToD in horse) as I have decided that the LC collar may look too big on me. Hey all, I have'nt logged in to the forum for a while since I moved, and the gear bug has bit me again. I'm going to be ordering another wested soon. I'm torn between the ToD and LC styles. Just wanted to hear some opinion on the LC collar. It looks awfully big in pictures or maybe it is just deciev...

question on different jacket by FS

Is "authentic" goat different?
I have seen several posts referring to authentic goatskin that wested offers. Their website does not have this as one of the options. Does Peter have a different goat now and if so, how does it differ from the other goat he had? Just wondering b/c I'm compiling info on the type of hide to order. Tha...

As per my recent posts I have said that I am planning on ordering a wested soon. I already have a US Wings in goat and am very pleased with it. For my next jacket I wanted to diversify on the style. I was considering getting a lambtouch TOD but I seem to remember people stating that the wings jacket...

I'm in the process of narrowing down a wested to order along with which mods to get. I've seen some posts regarding gussets under the arms and I have been considering them. Are the underarm gussets worth getting?Do they keep the sleeves from riding up? Also is the lambtouch hide a more durable leath...

I'm kind of in between sizes for all my clothes. I have a US wings medium in goat that fits me great. Can anyone tell me what the comparable size in a wested would be? Any info would be appreciated.

Get quote before sending jacket back for repair!
I feel the need to let other people know about this before they do what I did. I noticed a few stitches popping out of my Wings indy goat jacket on the back strap by the d-rings. I thought hey, no big deal. 4 or 5 stitches were out at best and it looked pretty easy to rectify. These things happen. I...

I was deadset on getting a lambstouch wested as my next jacket, now the authentic lambskin has come about. I'm a little confused about recent posts saying the new lamb is heavier. Is the lambtouch cow still considered more durable? I'm kinda hard on clothing and would like to find out before I order...

Does lambtouch cow distress well?
I am new to the forum and find myself quickly becoming addicted to it. I have a question regarding jacket distressing and types of leather. I have noticed that the lamb seems to be the easiest to distress according to the posts. I am deciding which type of Wested to order right now. How does the lam...
