Re: Webley WG, finally found one!!! pics

Excellent feedback and much appreciated! I'll find something to shoot through it sooner or later. I have to confess though, I'm already considering selling her. It was an impulsive purchase and financial reality has set in. If I do, I'll mention it in the CAIRO BAZAAR.

Yes I am a south paw. That is why I need to construct my own leather (mostly cowboy leather). Not as much selection out there for left handed folks. I'll post more pics.

Self made KOTCS holster, first attempt.

My first attempt at making a CS Holster. I used images of authentic Webley holsters to get the basic shape and added the closed toe to give the CS holster its characteristic appearance. The dye came out blotchy though. Also, while wet forming the shape of the gun the leather wrinkled somewhat. I sup...

Yeah, I guess if I was to built a "true" SA Stembridge S&W I would have to chip out a huge chunck of one grip. No way. Those grips are hard to find!

Re: Webley WG, finally found one!!! pics

Thanks jts1031, and I intend to shoot lead bullet though it from now on. One question though on something I'm just not clear on yet. Would not the barrel be smaller on a Webley caliber marked 450/455 vs. 455/476? I'm not sure what the double #'s (xxx/xxx) indicate.

You are correct Jake. Copies are very common these days. This one is made by US Firearms. The parts are from overseas but finished in the U.S. with better tolerances and finish including a genuine case hardened finished on the frame instead of the typical chemical proccess so common with imports. Re: Webley WG, finally found one!!! pics

$865.00. The seller commented that if the revolver did not have the .45 conversion he would have priced it at $1600. Is this a reasonable price? I don't know, but it was worth every penny to me. I'm going to construct a holster next (CS) and will post pics.

Colt SA seen in Last Crusade

Hi folks, Since were on the topic of movie guns, has anyone discussed the handgun carried by the grey haired grave robber in LC during the circus train chase. He points it at Young Indy after he is pulled from the lion's boxcar. Sorry, I don't know how to freeze-frame movie images to illustrate. Any...

Re: Webley WG, finally found one!!! pics

Thanks for the info Rook. From all the information I could find the concensus would be not to fire modern ammo out of it. I did however find sources that stated they had fired countless rounds through their old Webleys without problems, yet these were in the minority. I decided therefore to have som...

Webley WG, finally found one!!! pics

Just stumbled on to this one yesterday. I never thought I would find one. I wasn't even thinking of a WG on this day so you can imagine my suprise when I spotted it under the glass at a small gunshop/antique store. I have been on the lookout for a WG for years (gunshows and shops), and this is only ...

The holster has a sewn in toe plug. I used 6-7oz. leather and the thread, dye, and hardware were purchased from a local leather supply. The most important ingredient that went into making this holster was the rewind on the DVD player. I watched certain scenes (ROTLA) over and over trying to get the ...

Hello all, Self made Raiders holster. Constructive criticism would be appreciated. Note: The holster is not red. It just appears so in the picture. It’s the best I could do with the lighting I had. Here's mine. This was done a couple yers ago by a smith in AZ. It is a 2nd Mod. in .44 cal.. Your version looks great and appears very screen accurate. The ramp on mine seems to have a higher profile than yours but I cannot file it down any further without compromising accuracy. How does yours fire?...

About a month ago I bought both a MK6 as well as a MK7 from WPG. I was pleasently suprised with the quality. Maybe I was lucky but the MK7 is like a brand new bag with little to no smell at all. I did notice some very minor frayed stitching but it seems to be holding up well.

If you want a "barrel cut", meaning a four inch barrel and new front sight, then Jack Davore, (928)526-7718 can do it for you. He can produce a bapty sight (ramp front) or replace the existing half moon front sight.

Hope this helps.
