The Hattery Katoomba sent an email out on 16th of October, they’ll be offering the Fed IV in a new colour graphite, a new reshaping service for a Raiders look and general restocking.
But nothing on a FED V sadly.

Re: Just Ordered the Professor Glasses form Magnoli!
Please do! I’ve got my eye test coming up in February and fancy some new frames and my plan is to get lenses in the Magnolia glasses. I had thought the Saville Roy Eyewear might have a shop in London but I’m not willing to fork out that amount of money trying to fit a pair of glasses myself online. ...

It’s not worth it, I’ve seen it myself on eBay. The quality of this hat would be no where near the current HJ offering. It’s a factory hat with poor stitching, poor sweatband, poor quality felt. Good for a costume piece, at the right price. There are so many better options for the money they want fo...

Is it just me, or have they purposefully photoshopped the fedora to have more Raiders ‘mushroom’ effect? It looks very odd to my eye…

Good point! I think speculation and flipping has already begun. I’ve been watching a DoD HJ on eBay with some amusement. I couldn’t care less what any hat sells for. I don’t know if this is permitted, but I am loathe to watch this happen. For your valuation purposes just to say the hat at €1500 at the moment is the same one that was up a year ago at €1200 by the same seller. I had previously agreed to buy it at €600 in Jan 2022 ( I was the best offer) but had to...

A random thought that I had: I wonder how much variation there is in the color of the DoD hats, both production used, and what's being sent out. Sorry to the beaver owners, but the beaver hat never looked right. Would deep sable still be accurate for the earlier movies? What didn't look "right" to you about the CS hat? For me it’s too boxy and too unyielding, the felt lacks character if that makes sense, it always looks ‘new’. Des...

Picked it up last week when I was last in London. Think they got it pretty spot on. No photos in the wild yet. HJ are low on Deep Sable in beaver so I’ve went rabbit - probably the better option as it will be lighter and floppier.

I assumed there was more of a question mark around the brim looking at Mulceber’s posts on 2 5/8 and as Jack’s original comments are gone it’s hard to fill the gaps. As I understand it Deborah Nadoolman was the key influence in the unique shape of the Raiders fedora. In terms of a tight pinch I think it is very much each to their own, and your personal style. “Ford felt” meaning the felt from the run of hat bodies used in KOTCS.
So if Steve/Marc got 50 hat bodies in an order batch, used 20 for the production hats, the other 30 are the Ford felts sold by AB to the public.
You don’t see many about.
Thanks
