I got standard slider buckles. Don't really care for the prong buckles as they can catch on clothing and such. :TOH:

My original pair of 405’s are now 19 years old and still kickin! I’ve had them restored by Alden in the past with great success.

I actually need to have my 403’s restored very soon as well.

I noticed this the other day when I went to check the clearance section as I do from time to time. It's sad to see them possibly walking away from the leather market. Even though I eventually grew tired of my Expeditions and sold them due to the fact that I just found the skins to be a little too pl...

For me as of now there only three jacket makers that are really pulling off the Raiders jacket.

Bill Kelso Relic Hunter
Wested Hero Crispe or Shrunken Lamb
Steele & Jones - which will be my next purchase most likely

Just from experience, you have to request that the moc toe stitching be re-sewn. Also, I don't believe refinishing of the leather is included in the restoration package.

Hahahaha they may not be machine washable but they surely can be packed in a suitcase for probably 15 hours.

It's a standard Fed. I have yet to own a deluxe. Wouldn't mind one however. For the money it is a rather durable lid.

Words of wisdom, Michaelson. Odds are in my opinion the area on the upper where the welt and sole are attached Might be too damaged to risk the repair according to Alden standards. If they are that far gone then a local cloggers repair may give you another year of wear. Then again it might not. You ...

This comes with some very odd timing as I am as of this moment looking over my 13 year old Alden 405's and thinking of having them restored. Again.
