Visiting an old friend...

Post by Gorak »

Today I was caught with no jacket at work and had to pull off my display jacket to wear and,as I did, I thought," This is kinda nice"
It is an older Wested in the fabled awesome Washed Goat they had been offering some time ago. It was Tomek`s originially and I believe he sent it in for alterations to have the chest slimmed down a bit. It is the only jacket I have ever come into contact with that had a very thin SCREEN ACCURATE in my opinion, yoke! It has been soaked in the rain and worn under a car for repairs and still has tons of life left in it. I love the heft of it and the dusty appearance of the leather. Changes things up a bit when your feeling saucey. It is just a bit too long for me looking more Temple of Doom on me. As I am a Raiders guy, it didn`t get much wear until I discovered that it fit my Display perfectly and so there it resides usually. Just thought you guys might want to see what the leather looks like on a Wested style that I believe they stopped using long ago...

Now I really miss the TOD washed goat jacket I used to own. Great looking one you have there Gorak! I really enjoyed the washed goat for its softness and overall look.

Great, that you still have this jacket! It would be even more awesome for me, if it was darker. It has the slimmest yoke I have ever seen on either my jackets or all of them around here. I believe it was circa 4 inches or even less.
Good job on aging it a bit!
