....the jacket will go to market
I just wanted to inform you that I heard from Rebecca today, and the jacket will be going to market soon, and I wanted to mention a few things, because during the process, I began to think of options that only fans would appreciate.
I won't list everything, but one of the hold outs in the past has been that smaller pockets would not hold the grail diary. So even if a guy orders a 36, the diary will fit in the pockets. As far as I know at the moment, I had requested that the customer have the option of either the black liner or the more customary, brown cotton selesia. The strap anchors will be the old style, as we have seen in film.
I am really looking forward to seeing the final product, and hope it is all that it was meant to be.

, ! Congrats and salutations! Now, however , the wait begins! Seriously, fine work Texan! As I always say (well, at least occasionally) if the job needs done -- call a man from Texas! (I can say this....I was born in Texas!) W>

Re: ....the jacket will go to market
I'll be interested in seeing if it's the jacket Tex gave them specs for, or the one St. Dumas told us Wested announced yesterday as being released in late March? I doubt they're one in the same, since Rebecca was still putting pencil to paper on the design.
Should be interesting.

Re: ....the jacket will go to market
I'll partially quote the message....
"it will go to Market, we're having it made up at the minute....HOWEVER, I really think we made a good team on this project...You worked really hard with me..."
Didn't really give a release date though. Apparently soon.

This is THE jacket for me and which I studied since Indy time began for me.. I hope it has all the unique details that set the jacet apart from the two previous. I hope they realize that the LC jacket is not only bigger flaps and round collar tips.

Great news! Thanks for all your hard work Texan! I can't wait to see the finished product.
Re: ....the jacket will go to market
There are more folks behind the LC project then just Tex. I know of a few people which I'll leave nameless. Not all are from COW. However, the jacket is not made from One persons' fan based specs alone.
Should be interesting.

Re: ....the jacket will go to market
Holt, I have no desire to get caught up in anything, other than to say, if anything happened, apparently I just happened to be at the right place at the right time.
In the time that I have spent in the forum, I realized that a certain dynamic was at work, and that is, members often went forward with their orders and specs from a preconceived notion of what the jacket was, sometimes whether or not it was based on film. I think that especially in the beginning, it is common to do this. I liken it to casual fans thinking that the hat was leather or that the jacket was an A-2. Everything that I used was based on film stills and not perception. That is, if she ever had any questions or questioned my observations, she would usually say something like...if you perceive something differently, then please enclose stills to back this up, in essence. Sometimes, she would say...let me run this by Peter and get an 'ok' on that, because apparently the observations differed from what was generally accepted, previously. When we began, according to her observations, the collar would have been 4-5" in width, which is another example of perception. The LC collar is perceived to be wider than the Raiders, therefore it should be. However, close observations matter. Not what I think it was, but what it actually was.
For instance, we covered the notion that the perception has been that the storm flap was wider than it actually was, most likely because of the illusion of the distress marks that outlined the storm flap. This topic among others were dealt with.

Looking forward to seeing this work, Holt. I know how much time you have put into pondering the specs. It used to be my favourite Indy jacket. A lot of people have done a great deal of work to get this to happen.

Re: ....the jacket will go to market
I wonder if Wested has finally caved to making the Hero LC jacket in short part to get all of us Gear heads to stop bothering them with millions of modifications.
I'm hoping this comes out as good as the Hero Raiders jacket and not just changed specs on the collar and pockets.... I really really do. I've loved the LC jacket and look in general for ever and would love to purchase one without giving Wested 1 million different specs that they may or may not get right.

Re: ....the jacket will go to market
Anybody heard anything new about when we may be able to expect this to come to fruition? I haven't pulled the trigger on an Indy jacket in almost 3 years (and I'm feeling the itch! ).
Re: ....the jacket will go to market
yes, last I heard before easter was that it was postponed

I really hope this happens. I can't wait to see it and purchase it. I haven't purchased an Indy jacket in almost 20 years.... but if this offer is good enough, I'll pull the trigger.

wow
Re: ....the jacket will go to market
Shame it's on-hold; if they can pull it off well, it'll bring in a lot of business. I know I was hoping to order a LC Hero in HH and take advantage of the drop in the £. You can get a custom for $242 right now! (Spotty work with requests are keeping me from going that route right now, something that can hopefully be remedied with this Hero project!)
