I picked up a summer job so progress got delayed a bit. I weathered the hammer and trigger. I also decided to cut the grip off and replace it with the 3d printed version. Filling in with the putty wasn't productive as the grips weren't fitting properly. I just hope all of the different bonded areas ...

Lots of sanding and refilling at this stage which takes a lot longer due to the epoxy needing to dry. Took a lot of small adjusting, breaking, regluing but I'm very happy with it so far. Cut both guns up. Figured out where I had to trim extra materials off. Using a lot of glazing spot putty in order to fill in gaps as well as smooth out the 3D printed material. Here you can see the size disparity between the two frames. Received the whip today. It's amazing to hold a high quality whip after holding sub $200 whips all my life. Unfortunately no whitehide falls were included. I'm actually ordering the 3d printed Bapty as well as the HGC HF 131 which is pretty popular. I'm planning to bash these two to create a more SA Bapty that functions. I'll start a separate post for that build once I get everything.

Magnoli, what screws did you use for this? Ordered a 3D printed Bapty and I'm planning to use yours as a guideline. I also ordered some Smith and Wesson medallions to install which I would recommend.

How much breaking in is needed? I have a size 13 and I've been trying to break them in, but it just seems painful at times. Two things I would recommend for these boots is foot powder and better insoles. Mine acted like they were too big and too small. My toes would be pushed together but my heel would lose a layer of skin every time I wore them. I’ve worn these boots quite a bit and they might finally be getting broken ...

If you followed a proper technique to put on the popper it might not be that it came off... I had a lot of issues a while ago with the tip of the fall breaking where the knot of the popper was.... I solved with with intensive applications of Pecard's to the fall (before and after cracking sessions)...

Sure did! I recently replaced the fall with a David Morgan white hide fall, but apparently I didn’t put the cracker on securely enough. I got a few good cracks in before it flew off into the woods. :whip:

Well in the last pic, I'd say 12 years, 8 years and 1 year. I used to crack them, these days not so much. The newest one, an 8ft, has only been test cracked a couple of times. The others are fairly broken in. They look great! How did you get that "worn in" look with the one you only crack...

Got my Akubra Federation Deluxe a few weeks ago. I’m very pleased with it so far. Slowly getting it to a Raider’s Bash that I’m happy with. This hat has already gone on some adventures and travels with me and I know it will be around for years to come!

If you are looking to manage your budget, especially for a jacket you won't wear often, definitely check the secondary markets.
