Not sure of your budget, but I think Josh would knock a 10’ out of the park at a great price.

It's always great to read a good adventure story! I'm glad you like the whip, Chose Poorly! It was a pleasure to make. But what whip isn't?

Ah, welcome aboard, Josh! You’ll find quite a few fellow whipmakers on here. Happy to see you officially joining the herd.

The maker, himself! Welcome in our midst, glad to have you here.

That is a very beautiful and nice crafted whip you made for Chose Poorly.

Cheers,
Bear

That's so kind, thank you! Making these things is my passion (obsession). Especially when it comes to making the Holy Grail of whips, the one that started it all for me when I was a kid. :whip:

Ah, tell me about it... out of all the things I am or have been passionate about I think whips and whipmaking was the only true obsession. Until I found out some secrets, some basic techniques it was all consuming, all I thought about. ](*,)

Was chatting with Josh (Catchall Crafts) this morning, and as some of you already know, he’s continued making Indy whips since the one I custom ordered.

I wanted to give a quick shout out on COW and encourage any other forum members who have ordered one of Josh’s whips to post some pics/videos/reviews. Would be great to see what you’ve all tasked him with since my ‘Chronicle’ was complete. Folks can add on to this thread, or we can move over to a “Catchall Crafts Whip ‘em Up” thread if there’s enough activity to be shared.

Also, for anyone not aware and in the market for a whip, the Catchall Crafts Etsy page has been updated to include a made to order Indy style whip option. Check it out here: https://etsy.me/3x36SR1.

And finally, one more shot of my whip proudly displayed in my bedroom…

I know this is an old thread at this point. I just put in my order for an 8' whip with Josh. Excited to see his work in person!

That’s awesome, congrats!

Josh is a delightful person to work with, and the benefit to this being an old thread is that his work has improved greatly since the whip he made me. The whips I’ve seen come out of his shop more recently look stellar!

Received the whip today. It's amazing to hold a high quality whip after holding sub $200 whips all my life. Unfortunately no whitehide falls were included. I have had luck with white hide lasting a while though so here's to hoping. Planning to swing by a local park to get a few cracks in after class. :whip:

Pics as requested! It is a tight and beautiful whip. Started breaking it in immediately. Whipped myself a few times attempting an overhead crack. I'm surprised at how small and sleek it feels compared to my Magnoli Deluxe whip. Like comparing a Chevy to a Ferrari. Well worth the money and can't wait to see how it breaks in. Josh was great to order from, kept me well informed and the turn around was really fast. The only thing I'm getting in contact with him about is some replacement Whitehide falls. ImageImageImage
