Re: New to me, hero raiders..sleeves a little too long
Will it relax back out over time? I dunno. I have done that with over a hundred jackets (no exaggeration) and have never had one 'relax' to a noticeable degree. Once it is shrunk, it is shrunk. You may have some of the elbow wrinkles loosen, assuming you made them. I always build wrinkles into my j...

Re: New to me, hero raiders..sleeves a little too long
Roll them up inside? They are barrel sleeves, so you can usually wet them and re-seam the bottom of the sleeves and nobody will know. You can roll them up and tape the inside edge where the seam of the lining meets. Try not to get tape on the leather because taking it off again can mark the leather....

Last year I wore my fairly stiff Akubra Fed IV while traveling, and it soon reached the point where I did not want to wear it because of its propensity to go sailing off in the wind. On a similar trip this past month, I wore a much softer Akubra Pastoralist (with a Indy-ish bash), and while the wea...

Great Looking New Hat Offerings!
There are some fairly new vendors that have some nice looking hats! Some try so hard to accentuate certain features that you almost get a bit of a caricature of the Indy hat, but overall they are really solid looking. There is no real question here, but I am wondering how durable they are. Some of t...

Having an Adventurebilt and not wearing it, is like having a new Jeep and not driving it. They are both meant to be used, and the dings and scratches along the way add to the character, not distract from out.

Thanks Gorak, I appreciate that - the Heron J212 is a great jacket for certain. One thing you may want to ask for is a (hidden) snap on the chest pocket as it has no closure right now. It will not matter. Many of the replica jacket companies are owned by the same people. Short answer: Don't use it. Long answer: I have used WD-40 on a vintage 1930's Archer leather jacket with no ill results (yet). It depends on how and when the crease was developed. If it is a light crease from shipping, it may come out. If it is a deeper crease, was creased prior to making the jacket or pressed into the jacket in any way, you will probably always notice it - although you may get it to fade somewhat. Many cre...
