I've had my hat from PB for a little while now and still love it. Took some FE to it last week just to knock that 'I'm a new hat' look off it, but it doesn't look like ive been held up in the desert. I'm surprised they aren't talked about more.

Re: Todd's S&W Cairo Revolver - who has one?
Thanks guys :) Todd, sure, post away! What I didn't wasn't that hard and turned out well enough. I popped out the S&W coins and little brass greeblie for the screw that holds the grips together. Take a brown 'woodish' color spray paint (I used Rust-oleum flat brown) and give it a couple good coa...

Re: Todd's S&W Cairo Revolver - who has one?
I got one as well Nice replica. I darkened the grips, weathered the grip 'coin', removed the orange and added a little flame scoring to the end and it looks awesome.
You'll be happy with it!

She's been shipped to your FFL. Let me know when you get her. I've got a gunsmith that was recommended by another member who "Bapt-ized" his S&W. Looks really good. I'll send you his contact info later.

Re: My IndyGun Collection
Don't worry, the S&W went to a good home I promise not to cut up the original barrel, however I would like to find a .455 barrel and .455 wheel to replace the original parts. I also want to put the correct custom ramp site on the 'new' barrel Any help on this would be appreciated.

Re: Best way to darken plastic grips?
So this is the color of the original grips: http://www.toddscostumes.com/images/special/Tanaka1917leftsmall.jpg *picture from todd's thread. And this is the color what I finished up with. This was the closest color that I could get in a pic. http://www.thesabervault.com/files/Indy/S_W_grips.jpg This...

Re: Best way to darken plastic grips?
Wood grips would be better, but I'm trying not to spend any more than I need too :) I did see those, and they are 'almost' correct, but would be a good substitute for the actual grips. Ok, what I ended up doing was painting the plastic ones a darker brown, gave it 3 acrylic washes, and hit it with a...

Best way to darken plastic grips?
I picked up one of Puppetboy's PFC Bapty revolvers, and it's really a nice looking piece. With that said, I would like to darken the grips to a more walnut color. The ones it comes with are just a little too light for my tastes. http://www.toddscostumes.com/PDGImages/353500BL.jpg They are lighter th...

I got mine as well, and it's great I do second wu han's post though. Where the 'blued' finish is nice, does anyone know a good way to get the finish more like this?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Fabulous work bud. Hopefully it'll warm up there soon so you'll feel like doing another run... SO many of us who missed out want one very badly
I'd go for a S&W as well Both would be cool in the display! But if I could only have one, I'd want the Webley.

Would the soft be more screen accurate?jnicktem wrote:Depends on what you like. Cowboy hat stiff... or soft and floppy? I don't know that much about Peters Bros, but I heard their stiff hats have been nicknames bulletproof because they're so stiff. I personally prefer soft hats.
