Special comes from within. Just ask mom. She'll always think you're special. ;) I think the original run had more to do with how many he could produce at the time, as well as it serving as interest for future runs. I don't know what more is different between the two runs, other than the numbers. And if there are only 51 of these currently in the whole, wide world, that's still pretty limited! ;)

The original 27 guns are numbered C.O.W. 1/27 through 27/27
#28 is C.O.W. 28/50 through 50/50
#51 and up are/will be just numbered RKIII #51

Also, #51 was added because it had a slight flaw. So rather than chuck
it in the bin, I finished it and sold it here. Probably could have ebayed it for triple the price,
but for now I'd rather that you lads and lasses have a chance at them.

And now you know... the rest of the story.

I have had mine accepted into Australia by customs through the importer! I will see it this week.

I don't suppose there is any chance your having a crack at the S&W next?

Not yet. :)

One I'm... still... waiting on payment for. Plus, I've been busy, and sick this last week.

I need to get back on the horse and start getting more pulls done.

I hope to get back at 'er soon.

I know it's taking what seems like a long time, but essentially I've made about 35 guns in the span of about a year and a month. Soooo... *does some math*... That's almost 1.5 guns a month for the last 2 years? Sure, there were LONG gaps in between, but they are getting there. :)

Thanks for the interest in the project!

Regarding the Smith... I don't know that there's enough demand for me to do one, especially since there's a few people already doing them.

Well, okay, one person with the most detail in his replica has fallen by the wayside. I don't know, I'll really have to see. One person offered me to use his gun, but I'm always concerned with wondering if the silicone and mould releases will affect the blueing on the pistol. If It was my own personal gun, I really wouldn't care (well, too much...) but someone elses expensive firearm... well... I think you see my reason for concern. :)

We'll have to see. :)

 We'll have to see how it goes.

I'm trying to get back to the Webly's now. I have one gun that someone spoke up for, but then got hit with some unexpected bills so that one may be available in the future (I hope not as I know he really liked the one Minnesota Jones has).

Just finished one more today. I had all the parts pretty much ready, just had to redo one metal part and finish assembly/painting.

Felt good to actually do something creative for once. Been busy planning a MAJOR kitchen remodel which has stunk quite a bit of "fun time" away.

Well, I may be soon upgrading the kit!

I recently aquired a "newer" model WG with the correct side piece, so I may be offering that piece
as a replacement for those who have one of my current gen WGs. Just so you can get your replica
that one step closer to screen accurate. :TOH:

The finish on the new pistol is rougher than my old one, and hasn't been refinished so
the surface will have some "real life" texture to it. :)

Pistol also hasn't been shaved for .45 ACP! Pretty cool overall. I've already noticed
some slight style differences between my replica and the new pistol which is also
interesting. I'll get some pics up soon showing off the new baby in the family. ;)

Hi Rook,

Will the upgrade be applied to the remaining orders on your current list or wil you be starting a new list when these are ready?

The "upgrade" will just be a part swap, and as soon as the moulds are mastered
all the new guns will have the new part.

I'm planning on working on the next set in the run this coming weekend.

The kitchen remodel is mostly done, still needing flooring and window trim, but
mostly done. :)

Need to finish this run before I change moulds for the next one. :)

Well, got a little casting done last weekend, but not as much as I wanted to.
Like anything, once you get going it goes well... until you run out of a critical
material supply. ](*,)

So anyhoo... I have 4 guns "in the raw" right now. I'll scrounge some cash and
replace the needed materials and get back at it.

Also, I have slot #35 open. If you are ALREADY on the list, and would like to be moved
up from a higher number, let me know.

If you're NOT already on the list, please wait until I open it so those already there
can have a chance at the position.

Thanks for the interest everyone!

Made some progress this weekend. Received my supplies on Friday, so now
I'm up to 10 kits in the raw (Barrel, grip section and grip slabs). Need to find
time to start cleanup, buffing, then sanding, then drilling, then... well, you
get the idea. :)

No promises when they'll be done, but if I can keep at it even a couple nights a week
we should see some results.

Hi Everyone,

The ones I'm working on now are already spoken for by people corrently on the list.
If anyone changes their minds when it comes time for payment (I usually have 1 or two who can't participate) then it will be opened to the forum.

Also, some have inquired previously if I have any for rent or loan... sorry, that's a negative.

Now, the real update...

I have 9 guns appx. 50% done now. All major sprues have been removed, all major holes have been drilled except for the barrel. Still need to do some more trimming here and there, buff the pistol (which, now that I think about it just sounds bad...) and then the usual sanding of seams (which actually is the part of the process that seems to take the longest time), metal parts casting/drilling/assembly, then final painting and assembly.

That's all!

Thanks for the interest!

Got some more work done last weekend. Got all the flashing trimmed and buffed all the barrel and grip sections. I forgot how time consuming it all is! :)

This week I plan on hitting the sanding of the seams (more time consuming grunt work)
and then on to the barrel drilling. After that it's...

Making the metal parts.
Drilling/prepping all the metal parts.
Building the lanyard loops.
Painting.
Final fitting, final assembly & numbering.
Accepting money.

Too bad that last step always comes... last. ;)

Another progresss update (small one).

Have the 9 on the bench all buffed nice and shiny.

Have 4 barrel seams sanded as well. Sunday kind of tanked as far as progress is concerened as the leaves
don't seem to rake themselves (darn it)! :)

I'll post an in progress pic... soon as I can get Sheila off the computer. ;)

Also, I don't recall if I've mentioned this publicly yet, but I plan on offering a 'budget' model Webley after January. It will likely still be cold cast, seperate grips and lanyard loop, it just won't open. Tentative price will be half that of the deluxe Webley I currently offer.

Please don't contact me asking to be put on a waiting list. When I get to that point I'll make a public thread. :)

Thanks for looking everyone!

Finally was able to get back to work on these. Got 9 grips and the remaining 5 barrels
sanded today! Only took me 6 hours, or rather, One Roadwarrior directors commentary,
one Terminator Salvation Director's commentary, one episode of "V" and two episodes of
Leverage.

:D

And, finally, the much delayed, promised update pics...

Buffed, unsanded.

Image

And after sanding the rest...

Ignore the "pocket" pistol. That was an experiment using broken parts. I still need to epoxy
the front sight back on it and drill out the barrel... amongst other things. :)

Spent a few hours working on guns yesterday. Got the top straps all cut out so they seat correctly with the grip frame and also drilled all the barrels out!

Also epoxied the front sight on the 'Pocket Webley' and got that all cleaned up as well as drilling out the barrel.

Next is starting the metal work.

Wasn't able to get much accomplished over the holidays. I've been fighting some persistant bug since november, and as of last week I'm on a new antibiotic to hopefully finish it off.

Last Friday I was able to get 4 sets of metal parts raw cast before I ran out of metal. Bought 2 more lbs (for $50!!!) and I plan on finishing the other 6 sets of raw casts this week. I'll start final cleanup and prepping (drilling, etc.) early next week.

The end's in sight! Sorry to keep you all waiting! :)

Sorry for not getting back to you mate (I DID get your PM at the RPF too, just haven't replied yet).

The project's on hold temporarily. I've been busy with work, and side projects for the Mrs. so I've
been slacking on the Webleys. I plan on getting back to it soon though. Amazing how time flies...

Got some more work done tonight, finally!

Got "all" the metal parts cast and the majority cleaned up.
Except for the lanyard loops, the rest are ready for drilling and test fitting.

And... Pics!

I'd go for a S&W as well :) Both would be cool in the display! But if I could only have one, I'd want the Webley.

Just a progress update...

Got all the metal parts except for the lanyard loop finished (drilled, trimmed, painted) and have done a first coat of paint on the barrel sections.

I need to prep the grip sections and should be able to paint by tomorrow afternoon.
I should also be able to get the grips ready tomorrow as well.

Moving right along finally!

Thanks for looking!

Another little update...

Got the barrels all painted. Had problems with one barrel. The paint reacted oddly, so I
had to sand and repaint it like 3 times. ](*,)

Finally got it in the ballpark anyway. Took most of today to get the 10 grip sections all
masked (Actually, it took Crystal Skull and the whole series of "Making of the movie"
videos to get them ready...) for painting and got one side painted tonight. I'll let it cure
overnight and get another coat of paint on it tomorrow.

I hope to get the grip slabs prepped tomorrow also, but if not, then Tuesday.

Finally moving along!

Got the "Indy Shorty" pretty much done today while waiting for paint to dry. I made up
and finished the remaining metal pieces, and got the front sight and "brass" detailed as
well. Looks pretty neat if I say so myself. :) All that remains on that one is a lanyard
loop and numbering, and she'll be done.

Par for course, I didn't get as far this weekend as I'd hoped, but I did make progress. The barrel and grip sections are attached, hinge pins mounted and side pieces also mounted. Yay!

This week I need to fit/adjust the barrel release levers, clean up and seal the grip slabs, plus adding the lock nuts and bolts.

Then "all" that's left is the lanyard loops... and having people give me money for them (The second best part)!

Had to redrill the holes in the release levers. Apparently the drill bit I used the first
time was too small. Got all the remaining 7 release levers adjusted and mounted.

All that's left is making the lanyard loops. Which, sadly, takes the longest amount of time. :)

Getting closer!

I forgot how much better they look with the grips in place. Without them they look... well,
not really like pistols. With the grips... they just look right. :)

I'm hoping to be able to start shipping late next week, so if you're on the "50" interested list,
keep an eye on your PMs.

So far I have 5 unanswered PMs which may become open slots.
If you're NOT on the list, just wait until I make them publicly
