I reccomend you devise a way to refasten the disks after drilling the rivet from the inside of the bag. There should be a small round cardboard or plastic-like washer there. Nah, I after browsing the dvd I see all O rings, with the exception of the one scene you brought into question earlier. I will be replacing my NH strap and buckle with a custom one, as I don't see any borders on hat leather at all.

I always spot the buckles on the nazis in Raiders, as they look identical to the one Indy has one his strap. They appear to be off combat suspenders, though I have been unable to find an exact match. Take a look at the dvd of the first shot when the nazis are shown inside the truck during the chase....

I find the best way to get that distressed broken in around the edges look is too redye your bag. This is of course, if your are displeased with a tan or light green MkVII. Yeah Swindy, it works way better (and safer) than ironing. You don't even have to use wood blocks, just pack it full with something and it will be all good. I also have dyed an original bag. After removing all of the remaining stains I had bleached the bag nearly white. It was a great success, but later down the road I did part with it. It actually was one of the best bags I came across, since it was of course... green.

Thanks Rick,

The jacket doesn't hold up to all those specs, plus it has the warmer pockets. I heard that the presence of the hand warmer pockets indicates its not the real deal. Oh well, still a great jacket for $25. I'll still post some pictures on tuesday.

There are other, possibly better, sources for replica officers pinks. Many WWII reinactors websites will have links. I had just found a few on google. Often times much less expensive too.

If you want the wrinkles gone, simply soak it with water and let it dry with some wood blocks inside. This way as it dries it'll be sure to retain that shape you want.

I had one that was a good color green, but had clearly seen a good deal of wear. It had holes in the flap which had been patched, gave it some character. Still, it was far form unissued and went for about $80. I was shocked, I didn't expect to even hit $40.
