Email from Hand and Lock (formerly MBA)

Post by Band Director Jones »

Did anyone else get an email from Hand & Lock, which used to be MBA? Here is what I recieved today:
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your past orders with MBA Costumes. We are currently only able to offer pants and shirts which are individually made and are of the highest standards. The shirts are now dyed in a colour that is universally recognised as the closest match to the film.

Due to the bespoke nature of the production, the prices are now as follows;

pants £190.00 sterling,

shirts £120.00 sterling,

delivery will be approximately 4-6 weeks from receipt of your order. Vat and Postage costs will apply depending upon your location.

We envisage being able to produce leather goods and bags in the near future.

Please note we accept all major credit cards

If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me on the number below or by email.

Please feel free to visit our website to see what other products we produce www.handembroidery.com

Kind Regards,

Piers Macleod,

Now, I'm guessing that they got my email from Noel's contact list, because I never inquired about any items from them. The prices look VERY high. Heck the pants are now more than a Wested (though it was close before) and the shirt isn't far behind! In fact the shirt is now more than twice the price!! I'm not complaining about the email, just wondering if anyone else received it as well.

I dont know how many people will actually be buying from these folks now that the prices are so REdiculous, and they dont have anything to do with the films.
Shame Noel left.

They probably heard Peter was in the game now, and figured they would try to get a few customers before it's too late.
They should have treated us nicer before.
They're loss, my moneys going to Peter.

Michaelson, this reminds me. We should follow up with a certain someone we contacted a while back. I've not heard anything yet. Have you?

Sorry to be so cryptic guys and gals.

Thank God for Wested!!! Peter Botwright is god!!!   just kidding, although if he keeps making indygear and makes different pieces... :D

I must admit the sound of bags does sound promising, as long as they arent $1,000,000!!

Nope, mike . This is exactly the same tripe that we heard when I announced MBA being picked up by the new company last year, but that information came from Alistair, and the prices were the same. Nothing new here. :? Regards. Michaelson

I also recieved that email. I doubt they'll even get a single order now that Wested is in the game. It just doesn't make any sense to spend that much cash for a shirt and a pair of pants, when you can get the enitre base of the costume (shirt, pants and jacket) from wested for practically the same price.

To be honest i think thats the idea... they cant really be bothered with us and Indiana Jones so put the prices high to encourage us to go elsewhere.

What a joke.

They have blotted their copy book as far as I'm concerned by trying to exploit us with inflated prices whilst insulting our intelligence with the reasons for doing so.

No thanks.

BTW I don't think they are trying to discourage Indy fans- why make the items at all in that case? MBA was dead, they didn'y have to pick up the line. No, it's $$ grabbing exploitation, pure and simple.
