It's definitely a Brigg. Brigg umbrellas carry the royal warrant stating that they are the sole purveyors to HRM, The Queen. It's the gold band you see down near the handle in the photo. I travelled to London around this time last year, and picked myself up a Brigg. It was certainly an expensive sou...

THE REAL ORIGINS OF THE WESTED JACKET

There have been a lot of rumors floating around recently about the origins of the Wested jacket, and I think it's time someone set the record straight. As a close personal friend of Peter Botwright (I've known his father since childhood), I can attest to all the facts. When Lucasfilm originally conc...

Problem with a whip?

A couple of years ago I purchased a whip on eBay which looks suspiciously like a DM whip. It's very well constructed, and in nice condition. However, I've noticed that where the main body of the whip enters the handle, that it feels as if something has broken inside, as it bends what seems to me way...

I own a real Webley, and the appearance looks very accurate. The hammer is pulled back a little though... but for the price, it doesn't look like you'll find a more accurate replica, barring a resin one.

I would hazard a guess that , for the most part, a $200 watch will run as well as a Rolex if you take care of it. The primary difference is really mostly in the quality of finishing (guilloche dial as opposed to stamped, polished pieces as opposed to rough, solid gold vs plated). There are features ...

This really has me wondering. There was an ad in Sunday's New York Times (All the News That Fits Our Slant) for exactly the same watch, only it purports to be a replica of a 1922 Stauer. I've never heard of Stauer or Steinhausen, but the watch looks identical. The ad claims only 7 were produced in ...

Did you buy your watch off of ebay from some people in Ohio? I have one almost identical to yours except it has the other style band.
