Re: Making a Hat Block

Nice woodworking skills (and patience)... ...for a non-woodworker: do you think that one could 3D print a hat block, or does it have to be wood? I'd think a 3D printed block would be a quick and easy way for a beginner like me to reproduce the kind of block that you more experienced blockers are usi...

Ideas on how to exchange new Aldens?

I recently acquired some brand new alden 405s for a great price, but the fit isn't right. (14 A, while I need 12 D).

My local Alden retailer said they don't accept exchanges for shoes not purchased at their store.

Anyone know of a vendor that would accept such an exchange?

Re: Wested Leather robbed on May 14th

Ugh! Poor Peter. That makes me feel sick. To some extent, I know how he feels... I bought my first Indy jacket in 1997 (a Disney Cooper) and it was stolen only days after I got it. I had dreamed of owning an Indy jacket ever since I had first seen the Disney Cooper on display at the Indy Outpost at ...

Re: Im looking for a good leather repair shop near Seattle,

Found one: http://www.fixleather.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Charging $30 to remove and replace a zipper. I can tell by being in her shop that she has a lot of experience with repairing leather jackets, but shes up there in years so id guess shes likely to retire in...

KZ,

That dye job looks great! Looking forward to the post-distressing pics.

What did you use for dye? Im interested in trying your method, but i worry about the dye bleeding onto my pants.

Re: Strain 28th Anniversary Raiders Whip

To answer the question asked, "how does she crack?" Honestly, right out of the Fedex box, it was like a whip I had been using for years or something. I actually took video of that moment. Maybe it is the whole "just like Indy's in "Raiders" feeling" ... but I love it a...
