I'm afraid I don't know that, it is some type of leather. The Next boots are much lighter in weight than my Todds boots.Jeremiah wrote:Look good. Do they appear to be made of calf leather?

Re: Indy boots - close likeness from major UK retailer
I've just picked up a pair of the £65 Next boots. I have compared them to my old pair of Todds and as you can see from the photos they are not an exact match but with a bit of weathering hopefully they should be close enough. http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz103/leghnpam/20151011_130631_zps0refa...

Custom LC Wested in Shrunken Lamb MK II
Some of you here may have read my earlier posts about my new Wested LC jacket in shrunken lamb. Although I liked the jacket initially there were several things about it that I wasn't happy with which many of you pointed out on here. Amongst them were the shoulder seam started too low down on my arm,...

shoe polish or dye to darken jacket??
I have a Wested LC in Shrunken lamb and whilst I like the fit I believe the colour is slightly too light. I have used brown Pecards to darken the colour but this eventually dries out and the jacket goes back to it's original colour. Has anyone ever tried using either brown shoe polish or leather dye...

Re: Pecards' Black Dressing + jacket:
Your jacket looks great.
Funnily enough I have just done the exact same thing with my Wested pre distressed cow but I used brown Pecards.
The brown did improve the colour of my jacket but after seeing yours I think I will try the black.

Re: Custom Wested LC in Shrunken Lamb
I bought this SL jacket because my LC pre distressed cowhide looks good but weighs a ton and is quite stiff, not very nice to wear on hot summer days (when I am costuming) The shrunken Lamb is much lighter in weight (and colour) than the cow hide. The SL leather is thinner and more flexible so it's ...

Re: Custom Wested LC in Shrunken Lamb
HI Colin, the Last Crusade jacket was always lighter than the jacket in the 1st 2 films. They were going for a chocolate colour. Maybe my shrunken lamb is a tad lighter than ideal. I will be adding a bit more weathering to emphasise the seams

Re: Custom Wested LC in Shrunken Lamb
Michaelson may have a point. I think by using Kyle's specs I may have made the yoke slightly to big. I would say the shoulder seam has to be raised up an inch to be spot on. Is this worth the hasstle of returning it to Wested and having the jacket taken apart though? This would be at my cost as I ga...

Custom Wested LC in Shrunken Lamb
I thought I would share some pics of my latest Wested jacket. It's a custom made Last crusade in Shrunken lamb. this is my 3rd Wested jacket, my other two were made from pre-distressed cow hide. The cow hide looks fine but I could never get the weathering to show up very well because the leather was...

I visited Wested about 6 months ago. They do have a selection of Indy jackets hanging on the rails that you can try on but as already mentioned above I think the Hero's are made to order.

Re: Is it even possible to get a SA LC jacket from Wested??
Good luck. On the grey undertones note, I have known people who have distressed the jacket by hand and then gone over the distressed areas with leather dye and then gone over them again with a little alcohol to soften the color a little. I did it with a wolverine jacket with good results. Certainly...

Re: Is it even possible to get a SA LC jacket from Wested??
Holt, the weathering on your jacket has come through a nice colour. Is this jacket veg or chrome tanned and if chrome how did you get over the grey colour problem?

Re: Is it even possible to get a SA LC jacket from Wested??
It would seem that Wested only have veg tanned shrunken lamb and nothing else. I agree the novapelle/cow hide is the best match for LC (this is what I have currently)but this would be chrome tanned so the caramel colour would not come through when weathered. It would be grey as my novapelle jacket i...

Re: Is it even possible to get a SA LC jacket from Wested??
I already have a list of specs to give to wested including those you have mentioned. It would be a shame to get the jacket made accurate with the specs but not be able to get the leather or veg tan correct.

Is it even possible to get a SA LC jacket from Wested??
I already own a Novapelle LC jacket made by Wested Leather and I am very pleased with the look except for one major thing. Looking at the original jacket, where it has been weathered the leather shows through as a nice caramel colour. My jacket comes though as a grey colour on the areas where I have...

Re: KotCS Backpack (UPDATED thread on Germany Army Rucksack!
About a month ago I managed to find an original German Military alpine Rucksack for sale in the USA on e-bay. Unfortunatly the seller knew they are harder to find than rocking horse poo so I had to pay $200 for it. I then had the bag sent straight to Michael for him to add his quality HJ lab...

Cracker/popper material??
Hi all I am about to attempt to make my own crackers for my 8 foot bullwhip. I have heard braided nylon cord is good! I'm not sure about the thickness either?
