Indy boots - close likeness from major UK retailer

Post by Bamindy »

These are new this season. Considering how good they look and the fact that they are only £65, might appeal to some - especially coming up for Halloween; though I appreciate anyone on here looking isn't just Indy for a day! ;-)

As they are a fashion retailer, they're unlikely to be around after this season.

They'll also ship free to the States as the order is over $40.

Worth a punt, as they say. :TOH:

Cheers,
Brian

There's a U.S. icon on the home page, and through that I see the bots are $118. Very nice find, indeed.

I took what he meant as he did not enjoy the idea of wearing his Aldens out completely so this is a cheap alternative to extend their life?

I've just picked up a pair of the £65 Next boots. I have compared them to my old pair of Todds and as you can see from the photos they are not an exact match but with a bit of weathering hopefully they should be close enough.

Look good. Do they appear to be made of calf leather?

I'm afraid I don't know that, it is some type of leather. The Next boots are much lighter in weight than my Todds boots.

Thanks for pics, Skyhawker. Side by side you can see the difference, but they'd certainly look the part at a quick glance under trousers. Looking to order a pair soon! :)

Congrats! Those are very nice boots.

I'm 90% sold on this ones.
The lightweight is definitely a good thing for me.

How about the sizing???
Comparing to your regular size, it fits the same???

Cheers.-

They look good, but I have to tell you, I am getting really irked by boot manufacturers putting those pull tabs up over the top edge of the boot!!! I have a pair of Bass Billy boots and another pair of some cheaper boot and they both have the pull tabs over the top edge...it drives me crazy because every time I sit down or move in a certain way that pulls my pants legs up, when I stand up my pants legs are caught inbetween the pull tab and my ankle!!! I have to dislodge my pants every time...it is the dumbest thing....

Other than that, the boots look great!!!

Yeah, those look to be cloth tabs which might be a bit better, but on my other boots, the tab is thick leather. I could cut it off as no one would see it but I have not brought myself to do that just yet.

Difference in weight is probably due to the different sole material.

Those Next boots do look pretty good. I managed to pick up a pair of these in the UK last month (link below). They'd gone into a sale at £33. I snapped them up, but they're now currently out of stock . Who knows though, they may get some more in later.

I understand your frustration. We don't do half sizes in the UK. I'm actually a 9-1/2, so it means some 9's fit me and some 10's. This also means some 9's are too small and some 10's are too big. This makes buying footwear online a bit of a nightmare, so the company's returns policy is all important.

The boots I got last month (see above) also have a cloth pull tab on the back and I have the same problem. It bugs me that they snag my trouser legs, but I was planning on folding the tabs over and super glueing them down on the inside in case cutting them off ends up looking a bit rough.

The irony of ironies with the Next boots is that after finding them, they've sold out before I got a pair! Ah well... can only hope they get my size back in stock.

Found these others that are quite close in style, though devoid of the "apron" stitching. Hopefully they'll appeal to some.
