Hey Exit I'm in the middle of building a Blade Runner blaster right now and the techniques will work just the same on a S&W. First you have to wash it in warm soapy water then fill any imperfections in the resin with modeler's putty. Then sand it smooth and then wet sand it with about 1500 grit....

For those of you who are using the MK VII as a camera bag, are you worried about the lack of padding? I work as a wire service photographer and use my MK VII as a camera carry-all. The fact that it has no padding is a huge plus for me. I find padded camera bags way to bulky and just get in the way....

My Fed IV with other gear

You might have some luck at a saddle or horse tack shop. A pair of reins might just do the trick. They usually have a nice finish and can come in 72 inch lengths. The leather straps at Tandy tend to be quite thick and stiff unless you want to buy a hide and split it to the right width.

My new FedIV arrived last week.
