Here's my latest: a Ryder jacket from Lost Worlds: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hxqugtcg47ahdtc/file%20may%2022%2C%209%2045%2049%20pm.jpeg?dl=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; This half belt design was extremely popular by the mid 30's and was worn by many from the 30s to the 5...

Re: New 1930s Lost Worlds Ryder
Lost worlds offers this jacket in three ounce horsehide, but I like the look (especially the creasing you get on the sleeves) and protection of the thicker hide, even if it's not 100% historically accurate. Mine is 3.5 oz., so it is not far off the mark. Thanks for your observation. Tom

These jackets truly are works of art. If you are not familiar with them, check them out at lostworldsinc.com Every stitch and component is absolutely perfect, with nothing mismatched or out of place. I also have one of their A-2s from many years ago. Stuart is a delight to deal with and very helpful...

Good points guys! Back in the day when I was growing up, Sears provided high quality roughwear. I would not turn up my nose at a Hercules jacket or at anything else they provided back then. We mail ordered all our workwear. I don't have experience with Wested, but I think the Sears Hercules jackets ...

Indy and inflation
I just found an old ad from the 1930's for a Sears Hercules horsehide half-belt jacket. You could have your choice of black or mahogany. For the uninitiated, these were high quality jackets that, based on my observations, helped to inspire the Aero and Lost World's 1930s half-belt designs of today. ...

I've been struggling with this question a while and wanted to get some feedback from you guys. Re: Indy and the half belt
Never in a million years did I think I'd have a contribution to this topic. Turns out that Indy and the half-belt are actually kinda related. It JUST dawned on me that Kenner's 1982 IJ action figure (yep, had one back then) was molded with a half-belt. I'd always wondered why, since it wasn't SA: h...

I was just thinking that the era of Indy was also the era of half belts on jackets. I am surprised that they didn't include a half belt on his jacket, as it looks like it's made to have one. I am thinking of getting a half belt jacket soon, and was just wondering, does a half belt in back of a jacke...

My issue is that I am a 40 regular, normal height 5'8" but I don't have a gut, and I have 33" arms, not 34". I am too tall for a 40 short. Sometimes shirts, jackets etc. will have too much room in the stomach area and the sleeves are made for an orangutan. You are right though. ...

I know it's not screen accurate, but does anyone have any experience with US Authentic's (flightjackets.com) Indy jacket? It looks like they offer it only in a small, medium and large configuration, so I am not sure how it would fit. I am a 40 regular. Thanks!
