As far as sizing goes, the had fits like a glove -- my problem is that my head is more round than oval, and it is tall enough that I can't get the center dent low enough in the rear. I have the exact same problem - I can get it to look good, but not perfect. I experimented with shaping the brim usi...

That is a great tutorial! I'm still working with my fairly new AB. It looks better, but it still doesn't look right. I'll give this tutorial a try this weekend.

Yeah - I don't think we need a new sticky, I think it makes more sense to add to the current one. I did read through the existing one several times, and it is very helpful, I just don't think it contains enough information. The mods around here don't get enough kudos for all their work - you all do ...

I've got to chime in - I started a thread a couple of weeks ago on this same topic. The problem is that terminology is used but not explained in one concise spot. I love gear and props and researching them as much as most people here, but without knowing what to search for, it makes things difficult...

Thanks for the replies! Yep, my head is pretty much round and oval, so I guess the turn by itself won't give me the correct swoop. I'll try a bit of water and shaping it and see how it goes. I just found this other thread that talks about the bash and the brim. Seems like I should try what's suggest...

New AB - how to get the brim right?

Here is my brand new AB fedora with Idol bash! I love it! How do I get the brim looking correctly? I've got it turned on my head (putting the bow forward of my ear a bit). I looked through the sticky threads and can't find the info. It just seems too flat and I can't get it any lower on my head. :) ...

Alathea, look at the before and after photos of the hat again, and pay particular attention to the very top of the hat where the curve is from sides to top of crown. Instead of looking like this "l l", it now looks like this "/ ". That's due to the natural tendency of a hat cone...

The jacket fit looks really good. I was considering a Todd's and think your pictures are some of the most convincing as to the look of the jacket, wear it and enjoy. I noticed the belt looked a bit tight in your first set of pictures. I just got my gunbelt from Todd's last week and had the same pro...

I had forgotten about the rules on posting pics - sorry about that! I edited my post above to show links to the pics instead. I purchased the bag from What Price Glory. I took some more pics. I don't know, I still think it's too small, especially when it's zipped up or when I'm wearing the bag/gunbelt underneath. The jacket is zipped up in each pic. Thanks for the replies! Wow - I really thought it was a bit too small, but maybe not. After watching a bunch of scenes from ROTLA, it looked like the sleeve length was correct if the sleeve looked more bunched up. Also, how cinched are the side straps supposed to be? I'll take some more pics and pos...

Got a Todd's Standard - too small? ***New pics!***

I ordered all the leather pieces of the costume from Todd's Costumes. I'm very impressed, especially considering the price. However, I think I ordered the jacket one size too small. I put ROTLA in and comparing how the jacket fits on me to how Indy's jacket looks, I think Indy's is a bit baggier and...

Heh - the cracker is now a bit more frayed than in the photos. :)

Since I live in the 'burbs, I don't want to be a bad neighbor and really crack the thing, but I'm very pleased to report that I did some "quieter" cracks with it this afternoon. I'm going to have too much fun with this.
