What is a good replacement lace, preferrably flat, for the Indy boot, and where can I get it?

Re: Thinking about some Aldens
I am extremely picky about my feet. I have given away several pairs of shoes after wearing them a few days, weeks, and sometimes months and finding they hurt my feet. The 1/2 size down or regular size is quite a controversy regarding the Aldens. A few years ago I ordered some 405's in size 11 after ...

Re: Wearing an updated Indy look...finally..
I have always worn leather jackets, and as a retired principal and now a part-time teacher, khaki pants are the uniform of the day. When I started seriously wearing a fedora in 2004, I simply added it to my attire. I don't have an Indy bag or whip and never will, nor do I own an actual or close-enou...

Re: Watson's hat co
Could be my laptop or my 58 year-old eyes, but it looks like a bad scissor job to me. Enlarge that 3rd shot and look at the brim edge.

It looks like the brim has been trimmed quite roughly, too.

Re: The Penman post 'em up Pages....The Adventure Continues.
This week I ordered a Raiders styled Henry in brown. John said he's temporarily out of my size, so I'll be waiting a little while. I'll post a pic when it arrives.

Re: Alden 403 and 405 comparision with customer service revi
Sizing is a strange thing. I wore size 11 for most of my adult life. Then, at about age 44, I had to start buying bigger shoes. I attributed it to inconsistent sizing among overseas shoe makers and feet-spread due to aging. I ordered a pair of 405s in 2008 after having my feet professionally measure...

Actually, Michaelson, the Model 10 is a K frame, larger than the J frames. J frames are the Chief's Special, Model 36 etc.
I own J's, K's, and N's.

Akubra Campdraft
Does anyone have the Akubra Campdraft? I'm thinking of ordering one in the silverbelly color, not for an Indy hat of course, but it should be a good looking addition for certain clothing colors. Tell me about it and post some pics if you have them. Thanks ahead of time,

Sizing advice for Fed IV?
So, what seems to be the consensus from all you who have received the new Fereration IV regarding sizing? Order your regular size, or a half size larger as Ron recommends?

Are these boots orthopedic, meaning specially designed with the wellness of the feet in mind? I've been wearing/breaking mine in for a week now, and last night I noticed something: even though my 405's and I are still in the new/break-in period, last night my feet felt as if they had just been masss...

My Pecards leather dressing came today. Ordered Thursday, arrived Monday. That was slower than the boots from schmidty. $6 for the Pecards; $7 to ship. Aint life funny. I just rubbed them down, set aside to absorb. Reports to follow. What a bunch of pitiful, obsessed dudes we are! Picker PS: you sho...

Glad you guys are giving schmidty a chance to shoe you. Regarding sizing, I wore 11 D for years (I'm 54 years old), and about 12 years ago, I thought my feet suddenly grew because I was having to buy 11 1/2 and 12 in some shoes, and I have some walking athletic shoes (I despise athletic shoes, with ...

New Alden 405's from schmidty612's store
Okay, guys, so I saw schmidty612's posts the other day, called him on Tuesday of this week, ordered a new pair of Alden 405's at the price he quoted ($270 plus USPS shipping), and they arrived today, 2 days later. Great shoes, I love them, and I know that this post is worthless without pics, but the...

I would hate to be the one to tell all those hard working, Southern farmers and mill workers from the 40's and 50's that they shouldn't wear their fedoras with their denim overalls. Here in Georgia I can remember when the poorer of generations older than I even kept a newer pair of overalls for chur...

Holster source for 1917 S&W
I'm looking for a flap holster for the new S&W Model 22 ( the reissue of the 1917) with the regular 5 1/2 inch barrel. Todd's Costumes doesn't have it at the moment. Can you guys help me out?

New Member: Loves Akubra Federations
I'm a new member; this is my first post. I've been a hat wearer for several years, trying to avoid more of those awful noncancerous sun warts we children of the 60's seem so prone to. A few months ago I stumbled onto the Fedora Lounge and then found this site. In all honesty, I never realized I love...
