Re: Which US Wings?
I was 6'2" and 270lbs for a while and the 2XL Long fit me great with plenty of room for layering and movement. I'm actually selling both of my 2XL Longs if you're interested in something a little cheaper than a new USW. Both of them are cowhide and no snaps. Excelsior! Riothamus how heavy are ...

"Fat Boy" Jackets
Based on some discussions in other posts, I would like to get a discussion going regarding sizing of Indy jackets for our portly fans. I'm 6'2" 260 lbs and am really struggling with sizing. I would be most appreciative if you could post your height and weight and jacket type and size so maybe u...

Re: Which US Wings?
With respect to sizing, you're in a tough place. I'm 6'2" and 275. A 3X is like a dress on me. I cannot get my arms/chest/shoulders into a 2X - and it's still kinda a dress on me. We live in that same world of the hassle of buying clothes - or cars or seats on an airplane. The world is not siz...

Which US Wings?
With so many US Wings models how do I decide which model to get? The hero cow seems interesting. Also I'm a big guy, 6'2" and 260 lbs. They recommended staying with 2XL but i have one of the older imports in 2XL and it's snug on me. Any suggestions from you big guys? Thanks

Re: Sizing Help
Another data point, I have a G&B 48 long. It fits but is more of a military fit. I want my indy jacket to be a little looser. I may just go with a G&B 50L or 52L if they would make one that big. I'm just afraid of it getting too long.

Sizing Help
Hey. I have an older US Wings XXL goat Indy jacket. It is one of the older ones with the two piece back sleeves. I think they were imported. The jacket is a little snug on me. Did these run small or am I just too fat? The measurements are sleeve 24.5 which is ok, length 26.25 which is ok, width arm ...

Actually there is one more measurement that is critical and that is arch length. The Alden 405 is an orthopedic shoe. Your arch has to line up correctly or it will not be comfortable. I know this from experience. I have an 11D sitting in my closet I can't wear anymore. The best option is to go to an...

New and Old Aldens
I have some Alden 405s that have gotten too small for me. They are an 11D relasted to 11 1/2 but I would say they are between an 11 and 11 1/2. I am going to be trying on some new ones in a couple of weeks and will want to sell my old ones. Does anyone have advice on shipping weight/cost for a pair ...

G&B Expedition: Decision Time
I have been wanting to order an Expedition in lambskin for a long time. I have a goat US wings and feel it is too heavy for my comfort level. I have a G&B authentic horsehide in 48Long but it has a uniform fit and I just don't want that for my expedition. I have a 51 chest. Can't decide between ...

Best Way to Size a Wested (Yes Again)
Can someone refer me to a site or link within this forum that would give me details regarding how to properly size a Wested Indy Jacket? I have a US Wings XXL (import) that is just a little snug and I want a wested, I just don't know how to go about figuring my right size.
Thanks

The best practice is to go to an alden store and be fitted. If you do order them over the internet, go to a reputable shoe store and have them use a Brannock device for fitting and get what ever size the device says. A little roomy is not such a bad thing either. Alden 405's have a wide toe box but ...

The insoles of the Aldens will create pressure points in areas you may not be use to. It could be your foot is just not acclimated to a quality shoe with correct fit and support. I have noticed this for other shoes. Sometimes if you just wear them awhile your foot gets use to them (e.g. ligaments, m...

I think many sneakers tend to run small and Timberlands run big. Therefore, neither one is a good gauge. If you can't make it to an Alden store, go to a reputable shoe store in the town you live in and have them measure your foot with a Brannock device. Then order whatever the device indicates. Reme...

Well, I got my Aldens back in the mail yesterday. Dropped them off on the 23rd in DC and got them back to my home in North Alabama on August 6. Not to bad. The re-lasting made a huge difference. The pressure I feel is on the left side of the ball of my foot and on the side of the foot. It feels like something is pressing up on the left side of my foot. Auto Ordnance makes a GI spec 1911. The only thing I don't like about the Springfield are the grips but of course you can change that. They are a very well built gun for the money though. To me the ultimate was the Colt WWII repro and now the WWI repro. The former is no longer being produced. The la...

I have been to the Alden shop in DC many times. I would call them and discuss it. The Indy Boot is part of their orthopedic line. I personally think it fits true to size. Years ago X's meant something. A 10X hat was 100% pure beaver. A 3X 30% and so on. With so many hat companies out there, the X's have been inflated to the point where they don't mean much. If you buy a Stetson or Resistol western hat, the X's provide an indication of relative quality but do not nece...
