whip kit/or do it myself
I've been thinking about trying to make my own whip. I've got all the major whip-making/braiding books(Edwards, Morgan, Grant, planning on getting the Robert Black Marlin-Spike knotworks DVDs) and due to an interest in leatherworking, I've got most of the Tools, plus I know where I can find the leat...

Just to chime in here. If your talkin about a real world, hard use holster, Most holster makers use either 8/9 ounce or 10/11 ounce leather for holsters(if making an unlined holster) and usually the same for making gun belts(This is pretty much standard in all the books/videos on holstermaking, espe...

On the singing part, go over to the Sterling Beaver saloon forum, (don't have the web address handy, just do a web search or I can get it to you later), Charlie has a real handy piece that goes into detail on singeing. It goes into a better explanation than I can give. You use a light misting of alc...

One other thing is where the novels are concerned, if memory serves me right(can't verify at this time, lost all of my copies in a flooded basement and haven't replaced them), most if not all of the novels were actually prequals to Raiders(or Temple if you follow the timeline), and if I remember in ...

Ron, So you're talking about what eventually became the First model Dragoon pattern. I just figured that with as many repros of the Walker there are(I think about every company has one, and about as many as the Navy), it would make an interesting project gun(Think along the lines of an Old West guns...

RonC, Did you use the full original 60 grains of powder with that or a more reasonable grainage(safety's sake between 40-50?) Also what was the barrel length? I'm figuring with the 2 inches or so for the area that holds the loading lever, could go with about 2 and a half in front of that. What I'm a...
