Amaziah Rimfire, I would be careful using the 200 gr. jacketed bullets as sometimes jacketed bullets can shed their jackets when fired at low velocities, leaving the jacket in the bore. Another option is casting your own bullets. Lyman makes a 200 gr. round nose mold that is suitable.

Although somewhat out of your price range, copies of the Last Man Standing rig turn up on Gunbroker.com. I used Skywlrkinc's method and joined 2 Bianchi X15 shoulder rigs. Works ok for field use, although a tad bulky for true concealment. Thse holsters can usually be picked up on Ebay for a reasonab...

You might want to check some of the gun auction sites or Ebay and look for a Parker-Hale barrel for your Smith. They were made in the fifties and are the correct 4in lenth and have a ramp style sight very similar to the Indy gun.

There were approximately 17,510 2nd Models made and 163,476 1917s, so the 1917 is easier to locate. 2nd Models are generally more expensive but you might find a bargain and also might locate a 2nd with a 4in. barrel which could save a trip to the gunsmith to make it more indyish.

The extractor star will work fine with .45 Auto Rim. I have not read any of Taffin's books but he is very knowledgeable about handguns and writes for several gun magazines. Another book to look for is Sixguns by Elmer Keith. Keith's book is older and deals with the older handguns, but I would not re...

The 2nd Model Hand Ejector is basically the civilian version of the 1917. The gun is on the same frame and all parts interchange. The .44 Special is an excellent round, accurate in good guns, soft recoiling in factory loadings, and very versatile if hand loaded. I have a 3rd model Smith in .44 and w...

You can get .45ACP factory loads for $6.00 to $8.00 if you shop around. The .455 Webley round the gun was designed for originally operated at a somewhat lower pressure although the Webley is a very strong weapon. If I was going to shoot it a great deal I would hand load to the original specs as to v...

Last I knew the age for possesing an air gun in N.Y. was 16, but in the current climate I would be careful about carry in public. In N.Y. even a dummy gun can get you in trouble. If a person feels threatened by the fact that they see you with it and makes a complaint hire a good lawyer. The days of ...

I have heard that the extractor is an issue with the Argentine Hi-Power. A Belgian replacement is the fix if the additional cleaning doesn't help.

In my closet I have a horsehide jacket that was my fathers,he wore it when he was a teenager in the 40's. I discovered it when I was a teen and wore it until I grew into it and grew out of it. I believe the Brazilian S&W is usually refered to as the 1937, and they are a great candidate for the conversion to an Indy gun as they are generally considered less collectable than the 1917. The 1937 is a great weapon, good luck with yours.

The grips should fit, although you may have to relieve the top of the right grip slightly to clear the ambidexterous safety lever on the newer Hi Po.

Maybe the condom was in the MK VII to be used as an emergency canteen by being placed in a sock, as recommended in many survival manuals( Non lubed preferred for this use ). After all, Indy is a carefull guy.

Indy would heally have to use his Browning heavily or be a real gun slob to get that blue wear as the gun would have only been a year or so old at the time of Raiders.

World War II impression sells reproduction officers pinks for $145 a pair. As these are reproductions of the military pants they should have the button fly, etc. Has anyone here tried them?

I am wondering about the caliber designation on this gun. You list it as 32-20 Long. There is the 32-20 and also a 32 S&W Long, but they are not the same round nor are they interchangeable. Just curious. Anyone using old ammo for the 32-20 should excersize care as I believe a high velocity versi...
