thanks for all the love gents! I've been wearing this jacket out all weekend and it's quickly become one of my favourite pieces, surpassing being "just" an Indy jacket. \:D/ I would like to see your standard cowhide, too. check my post history! anything prior to this is my cowhide jacket. ...

Wested Raiders Hero in dark brown lambskin
yesterday I received this beautiful Wested Raiders Hero in dark brown lambskin from member tomek9210, and it's everything I've wanted in a jacket since I started researching the gear a couple years ago. my standard fit cowhide is nice, but this lambskin is quite possibly the thinnest and softest lea...

My First Fedora - AdVintage!
after a long 2 month wait, my Raiders Harrison fedora from AdVintage finally made it's way to Canada and onto my dumb head. I couldn't be happier! I did a bit of weathering with some fullers earth, used the Cairo hat for reference but didn't go super heavy with it. just enough to look used. today I ...

Re: 15 year old Wested!
One question, when you apply the dye, are you dabbing onto the just the area with the grey undertone? I have a Wested hero of oh about 8 yrs old +/- But it has the grey which I’ve always hated, so this dye may just what it needs so get’s a little more wear time. Croft  yes, just on the gre...

Re: 15 year old Wested!
It's cool to see a distressing project using an old Wested. It looks great with the dye-job. I remember years ago, I was frustrated by those gray undertones. I had no idea that I could have just dyed it. Now I'm thinking about getting an old one to do this with. Thanks for showing. thank you! I'm g...

Re: budget kangaroo whip? better believe it.
I don't understand this, really... It is clear that they have the skill and knowledge to make the whips: plaiting is uniform and alright looking. Adding nails (and plastic?) doesn't make it cheaper OR easier to make... They could make it better with no effort and no extra costs. I am curious what t...

today I received my 8ft kangaroo hide whip from LB whips/Leather Bond on Etsy. it smells great and it does crack. however, the fall is horrendous (and not white!) I'll be replacing it ASAP, mostly for aesthetics. I don't plan on cracking this too much. one day I'll get a quality whip from a reputabl...

Re: the gear so far.. UPDATE: help!
An additional thought on the dye. Double check the trousers, if the fabric has a water repellent/stain guard treatment, the trousers may not take the dye consistently if at all. Also, if they aren't 100% cotton your results may vary. It's been years since I've dyed anything and stain guard treatmen...

Where did you get the buckles from, and what makes it more of a TOD? The pockets seem more Raiders-sized to my eyes. today I received my first jacket! a ~15 year old Wested in cowhide (standard sizing) technically a TOD, but I'll be using it with my Raiders kit. according to the seller, standard Raiders and TOD jackets were basically the same back then. I'm super stoked with this thing. it'll hurt to weather it. ;...
