Re: Alden 405 restoration - is it worth it?
+1 to the recommendation of sending them to Steve (Bedo's Leatherworks). I just sent my 405s (my very first Aldens) in to him to have them completely restored (they've been through lots of "adventures") and he did a stellar job. I actually had the opportunity to pick them up directly from ...

Re: Stitching colour protection
Alden actually makes a "neutral" boot cream that works well. Others swear by Bick 4 or Saphir Renovateur (both of which are also neutral). Here's a link to the Alden boot cream: https://www.theshoemart.com/alden-mens-alden-fine-shoe-cream-neutral/" onclick="window.open(this.href)...

Also, you might consider joining some Alden groups on Facebook and getting an account on Styleforum (both have a very active sellers sections where you might be able to pick up some 'gently enjoyed' Indy Boots). In addition, Jim Pietryka (one of the admins of the Facebook group) owns an Alden retail...

Re: Henry Sr.’s Fountain Pen - 30th Anniversary Replica
Just curious if anyone grabbed one of these while they were available? Hopefully at least some of them found homes in Indy collections here! I saw on Conway Stewart's Facebook page today a picture of a customer review. The picture included the COA which was numbered 96/100, so I checked the website ...

Re: Boot sizing help
To decode the numbers inside the shoes (and for lots of other great Alden FAQs), you might want to check out: https://www.styleforum.net/ams/the-definitive-faq-and-or-wiki-on-alden-footwear.124334/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Scroll about half way down or Ctrl+F and sear...

Re: Alden 405 are they the correct color? And a new alternat
Aldens increase in price every year (end of January) - presumably to keep up with the cost of labor and materials (and inflation, of course). This year the increase ranges from $5-$22 a pair depending on the model. Also, for what it’s worth - they are taking preorders for an Indy Boot in the “origin...

Re: Raiders Pants
I ordered a pair of WPG pants in early March (just before things got bad) and I was amazed at how fast they arrived. (Obviously now, that might be different.) I'm happy with the overall look (color, weight, etc.), granted they're on my Indy mannequin, so I haven't worn them myself yet (although I go...

Re: Henry Sr.’s Fountain Pen - 30th Anniversary Replica
It’s getting closer! I’ve asked them to extend the middle gold ring on the cap to make it a more exact match to the original. They agreed to make the change and the new version is being photographed as we speak. Hopefully the pics will be updated on the website soon!

Re: Henry Sr.’s Fountain Pen - 30th Anniversary Replica
Well done! Any projected price yet? Regards! Michaelson :M: I’m not sure - that’s a good question. Their other pens range from about $300 (for the basic, black, modern Series 58) to around $500 for some of the other “special editions” so I would suspect somewhere in that range. Definitely no...

Henry Sr.’s Fountain Pen - 30th Anniversary Replica
After acquiring a vintage Conway Stewart fountain pen last year (like the one Henry Sr. uses in the tank scene in Last Crusade) - I decided that I wanted to pick up the modern version of the Conway Stewart Series 58. Much to my dismay, they don’t make them with the classic lever-fill mechanism anymo...

Re: Henry Sr. Pens
I changed your huge photos to links until you can post a smaller version. Try imgur... it's free and they give you links to different sized thumbnails. Very easy. Thank you! I will look into imgur and get set up with an account. In the meantime, I’ve ordered a vintage Summit S100 Cadet that looks p...

Henry Sr. Pens
I recently picked up a vintage Conway Stewart Series 58 lever-fill fountain pen like Henry Sr. used in the iconic tank scene. It’s clear from the research here and from comparisons to the Lucasfilm archive photos that the Conway Stewart is definitely the right model for that pen. In the archive phot...

Re: How do you display your hats when not wearing them?
The one Fedora I have hanging from a coat hook with 2 x jackets, bags, a whip etc. This is the one I use when I am outside and its one Mike arranged for me. It my favorite so its beaten up after years of wearing and its looking very tired these days. Another one I got from the amazing duo of Steele...

How do you display your hats when not wearing them?
Now that I have added a few Indy hats to my collection, I’m curious to see how everyone displays their hats when you’re not wearing them. Specifically, I’m worried about maintaining the shape and not “stretching” or distorting the sweatband while still displaying them in my collection (as opposed to...
