You might want to lay your hat down on the table ( look at it from above) and make sure you are measuring it correctly ( the brim). You hat looks like it has a turn to it. Let me ask you a coupe of questions.

Nice hat?!?!
Really, I have to agree with toobacat. Too wide in what sense. As an adventure hat I think it looks good as it is! I have had that same response, more than once actually. If I were wearing that as a "dress hat" (i.e., with a sports coat for business) I'd shorten it a bit. For wear with a leather jacket it looks great!!! Worst case. Give it a few days to a couple of weeks. Wear it and look in the mirror often.

(at me!)
Yes, it sounds like if you have given it that long, you should send it over to Marc for adjustments. Once things slow down a bit- email Marc and see. If it were an Akubra I'd do it myself. A fine hat like that, I'd return to the hands of the master!!
Check this out. I quickly hacked and pasted about 1/2 - 3/4 inch (by eye) to the left side of your original photo. Frankly I'm not sure it looks better.

Partly because the eye is naturally drawn more to the right side of the frame (so it is harder to see things on the left- cognitively inevitable for most of us, I'm afraid). Any chance you could do both sides? Else, you have to kind of cover one side then the other and try to remember it. Frankly, it looks a bit more like a dress hat with the shorter brim. (Again, I think they both look ok.)
I had to trim my Fed and I took a drawing compass set it to 1/4 inch scribed a line all the way around then took a pair of sharp scissors and cut the brim. Sanded the edge and it was all good.
Before.
after
this is how I marked the edge
