Here are some pics as well:
The true sable is a deep dark brown, very nice. The rabbit felt is nicely finished, the sweatband is soft leather. Very nicely made and a perfect fit for my noggin'!
Cheers,

Looks great! Congrats!
Now I'm even more excited for mine! Should be here on Wednesday.
Do you mind sharing your experience with Advintage's sizing? Do they run big or small? I'm right on the money for 60cm, which is what I ordered, but I'm worried I should've gone a size up.

I think they run a bit big... my head measurement is always 56.5.
Five years ago I got two hats in size 57 and they were way too big for my head. I needed quite a bit of filler under the sweatband, until I went for a reblock.
Now I took the chance on the 56 and it is a perfect fit: stays on nicely, but doesn't squeeze unpleasantly.
I am curious to see how yours fits!

Got a message this morning that my hat has been delayed by a day, so it should be here Thursday. I will definitely post an update, possibly with pictures if I can figure out how to do that.

Re: Post your AdVintage here!
My AdVintage Harrison arrived yesterday and I feel like a kid on Christmas morning.
Granted, this is my first quality fedora so I have absolutely no frame of reference, but considering I got the most affordable reputable option out there, I'm very impressed.
Mine is a Raiders w/ turn in True Sable (100% rabbit fur felt, obviously). The jacket in the pics is my Wested Raiders Legacy Hero (lambskin), purchased in January. Sorry for the lazy selfies. I got home late and I was very tired.
I already thanked Thomas for being so helpful and making the process so simple. I also want to thank all you fine folks here at COW for all your passionate research and discussion. It's not an exaggeration to say that I've wanted these two pieces of gear for as long as I can remember. Without this resource, I would never have known where to start. So thank you for helping to make this dream a reality.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go meet an old friend for one last adventure.

Re: Post your AdVintage here!
Honestly, I can't imagine a factory hat fitting any better than this. Thomas was right on the money with 60cm. It's snug enough to not shift on my head and fight the wind, but not tight enough to cause a headache. My crystal skull shaped cranium does press more on the front and back, but not enough to cause warping or discomfort. I can shove a pinky on either side. I've worn it for a cumulative few hours since it came on Thursday and it never left a mark. It's very comfortable. I purchased a hat jack, so I'm hoping that and proper maintenance will help minimize any shrinkage.
How bout that True Sable? Isn't it nice? Such a rich brown. I'll try to post some better pics once I get it out in the daylight.

Re: Post your AdVintage here!
So glad it fits well, Indiana Jon! I had the exact same experience: worn it for hours, never left a mark, a really perfect fit. I think the soft leather of the sweatband also helps.
I am waiting for them to come back in stock, I will be getting two more spares. They fit too well not to get more.
And yes, I do love the "True Sable" too. Very nice hue indeed.
Cheers,
Bear

This gave me a good chuckle! My Akubras fit like that. Front and back is ok, with room on the sides...Indiana Jon wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2023 11:03 am My crystal skull shaped cranium does press more on the front and back, but not enough to cause warping or discomfort.

Now if I can only stop touching the pinch. It's a tough habit to break.

Yup, when I first got my AdVintage hats 5-6 years ago I kept handling them by the pinch... took me a while to learn to only touch the brim.

Here in the UK, I am a ‘supporting artist’/ extra for tv and movies and occasionally get the call to work on productions set in the ‘40s, 50s etc. Having been given trilbys and fedoras to wear, usually from a box of random hats, I thought I’d better show them a proper hat, one that fits. My Advintage has been getting a good outing of late. Still trying to work out what I need to do to it, to make it more ‘Indy’. Suggestions or links to threads gratefully appreciated.
Edit: Me, filming in a recent UK tv show.

I’d say yo7 have an Indy Fedora going on there, maybe flatten out the front a Lille.
But if you’re in clothes set for a period piece, looks awesome.
If that’s every day, looks awesome.
And nice vintage Jaguar.

Re: Post your AdVintage here!
Last Christmas I got a new Advintage Harrison fedora with a LC bash. It’s in New Sable and I really dig that darker color, I was especially happy that Thomas had a 58.5 size in stock, the fit is great.
The felt feels very nice and overall I think it’s definitely a quality factory hat. Now after a little over a month and some wearing, sweating and fiddling around with it, it‘s time for a couple of pictures!
And here are two with my Last Crusade gear. I´m really happy with the way the True Sable color works with the different brown tones of this outfit.

Re: Post your AdVintage here!
Last week I received my Advintage Crystal Skull Hero fedora!
I ordered it back in November when Thomas was taking orders again and it arrived, as promised, right at the 3 months mark.
This hat is definitely a true masterpiece. The beaver felt is finished extremely smooth and feels almost like suede. It also looks like it was carved out of a delicious block of chocolate. You can feel and see the incredible workmanship.
Without a question the fit is spot on and the sweatband has a real pleasant feel to it which compliments the overall luxurious feel of this hat.
I always loved the way the hat looked in KotCS and to be able to finally hold it in my hands is an incredible feeling.
I think the Hero CS blockshape has a lot of body to it without looking overwhelming, especially considering this hat has a nice amount of reverse taper to it. Here are a couple of pictures with the rest of my LC/CS gear, I still need to dirty it up a bit but for now it is just so beautiful to look at.
Overall this is a fantastic hat with a great look and unbelievable finish. That it has the original Adventurebilt CS blockshape from Marc makes it even more special to me and worth the (actually not so long) wait. This will be one of the highlights of my Indy Gear collection.

Lookin' good Tremolo! The KOTCS fedora really is beautiful bash. I've always viewed it as a nice amalgam of all the others. Wear it in good health.
In other news, I've just ordered my second AdVintage Harrison to get things rolling on my TOD build. Can't wait to get my hands on it. This will be my second "official" Indy lid, and I have a feeling the shorter crown will match my long oval face a little better than the ROTLA bash. We shall see!

Re: Post your AdVintage here!
My Raiders (seen here: viewtopic.php?t=74410) is True Sable. It's a very nice rich brown and pretty darn screen accurate if you ask me. This time around, I ordered a Sable for my TOD bash. I've seen some disagreement about this, but to my eye the TOD lid looks ever so slightly lighter in color than the others, so I rolled the dice and went with Sable. It's sort of a gamble sight unseen, but Thomas includes a comparison pic of the various shades and based on my Raiders that comparison looks pretty accurate.
As long as it's not TOO light (which I doubt), I think I'll be happy with it. I'm not a slave to consensus when it comes to color accuracy. I trust my eye. Besides, I welcome some minor color variation in my collection.
I just got the shipping notification today, and you can count on me to post pics ASAP after it arrives.

Received my AdVintage Harrison a few days back. Really enjoying the overall shape of the hat. Thomas did a great job with the LC bash. I’ve subsequently curled the brim a bit on each side as it was looking a bit big on my head. It’s also definitely quite stiff upon arrival, but I’m glad it’ll retain its shape for a while. Very good for a factory hat, and I was surprised by how quick the turnaround was.

I went for ‘True Sable’. It definitely looks a bit different depending on lighting, but I’m very happy with the colour choice. Re: Post your AdVintage here!
Great looking hat! Interesting that you describe it as stiff - I wonder whether that has anything to do with Thomas' bashing process. I ordered mine open crown and it's very soft and flexible - not quite floppy, but also not far off.

Re: Post your AdVintage here!
I received my TOD Harrison a couple of weeks ago, and I finally got around to snapping some pics this weekend. I gotta say ... I'm in love with this lid, and not just because it's my latest acquisition.
This is my second Harrison. My first is a Raiders (Hovito temple bash). Now that I have two Indy hats (not counting my Fed IV), I understand the old gearhead adage "Your favorite hat on Ford may not be the best hat for your head." My Raiders hat will always be my first and Thomas did an amazing job on it, but when I first put it on I felt more like a Mountie than Indiana Jones. I think the long pinch of the Raiders bash accentuates the long oval shape of my face, and it just ends up looking very tall on my head. But this one? From the moment I put it on I felt like I looked the part. It's entirely possible that I'm also getting more confident in the gear, but either way, I am wearing this hat as opposed to it wearing me.
The TOD fedora has always looked a little lighter in color to me, so I rolled the dice and went with the Sable this time. I think it was the right call. Normally I wouldn't take photos in direct setting sun, but I wanted to illustrate the lighter color of the Sable vs. the True Sable.
I also wanna take the opportunity to praise Thomas' work. True, he uses quality materials and the variety he offers is fantastic, but I think his real talent is in the shaping. I requested the bridge scene bash, and I think he absolutely nailed it (just as he did on my Raiders Harrison). He really knows how to bash each hat to a specific scene, down to the ripples in the side dents. The man is an artist. Granted, he's the only vendor I've purchased from, but I can't recommend him enough. Those of us on a budget are very lucky that he offers this factory option.
I'm also wearing my new KDG Classic Adventure shirt and Wool Blend trousers in these photos, but I still need to pay my tailor a visit so the pants are just cuffed inside for now. Anyway, let me know what you think! I'll be putting together the rest of my TOD build in the coming months, so there will be plenty more pics of this lid come summer time.

Dang, nice lid, Indiana Jon! Love all the shots, but the last one is the nicest. The creases on the jacket sleeves are outstanding.
And I agree with you, Thomas does great work. I have three AdVintage hats and like them all a lot.
Cheers,
Bear

Thanks, bud! That's the one and only jacket I have (Wested Legacy Raiders), so you've seen it before. That's just one water treatment and a lot of wear over the last year. At first I thought I overdid it on the sleeve wrinkles, but as they smoothed out they ended up being almost perfect. They especially compliment the TOD lid nicely. As with all our jackets, the more I wear it the better it looks.

IndianaJon- that hat looks awesome dude. You wear the Temple hat well! That’s making me consider a Temple style for the next one…

Oh that´s a beautiful ToD hat and I think the lighter Sable was the perfect choice! It does look really natural on you.
I totally know what you mean with the Raiders hat, I feel similar when I put mine on and there are some hats/bashes that just let you feel the whole Indy vibe a bit more when you see it on your head.
But going by your pictures here and in your ROTLA thread, both Harrisons look definitely great on you!

Thanks for the kind words, guys!
I don't think the TOD hat gets enough love, but it certainly wasn't my #1 favorite. I never would've guessed how much I'd like it on my head. I'm really happy with it. Now I'm curious how the LC, KOTCS, and DOD lids may look on my noggin. Someday maybe I'll find out, but right now I'm waist deep in TOD!

Hey IndianaJon,
Did you reshape your Raiders hat at all, or is that how it comes if you ask for hovito temple bash?
Also, did you pick a specific scene for the bash on the TOD?really liking the sable color.

Indiana Jon wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 1:02 pm I received my TOD Harrison a couple of weeks ago, and I finally got around to snapping some pics this weekend.

I did not attempt any reshaping on my Raiders. Just roughed it up a bit. Out of curiosity, why do you ask?NorthernRaider wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2024 9:01 am Hey IndianaJon,

Yes, for my TOD I requested the bridge scene bash.
