I just realized that despite having multiple jackets over the last 30 years, I have not had a brand new Wested lamb Raiders before.
It is very shiny. I've distressed plenty of jackets before, but what is the best way to remove the shine from this leather?
how to remove shine from Wested lamb?

Wear it out in a couple of light rain showers. Nice and natural then.

Try out a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on a test spot. It worked for some of my other skins!

Alcohol removes shine effectively without abrading the skin. Start with a low percentage and go easy. Titrate up if needed. Condition the lamb afterwards. Alcohol will dry it out pretty badly.
That's what I have always used. Some people have used acetone as well, but I think that is way to harsh for lamb.

I tried this first as it seemed the friendliest for the leather- but used the handheld shower wand. They must put a coat of shellac on this stuff because the water beaded off of it for a while, then it started getting wet. I didn’t thoroughly soak it, though, and wore it the rest of the day.
That small amount of wetting worked wonders for it. Wrinkles in the arms and a LOT of the sheen is gone!
