Re: Bill Kelso's Relic Hunter
You're telling me! I've been looking at these jackets for about three years and as much as I love Raiders, there was no way I could justify spending so much. The Relic Hunter looks to me to be the best Raiders jacket made. Now saying that, my wife just surprised me last week...she ordered me one! Crazy!!! Now I play the waiting game...Charybdis wrote:Man, I have to say those BKs look awesome! I really want one or an A-2 but the prices...wow! I realize they are amazing and you get what you pay for. Great that you chose one of the best on the market to be your first! Be sure and take pics with it on you (we already have plenty of pics of them just hanging!).dorian.jedi.master wrote:Been waiting my whole life for my first Indy Jacket!
I'm waiting on a Kelso in goat, should be done soon!
Re: Bill Kelso's Relic Hunter
Oooh, I'd be very interested to see your goatskin! I was about to order one about a month ago, but with the 2 month wait it was due to arrive around June - just in time to not be able to wear it here in Jersey for at least 2 months! So I figured I'd hold off and order it around June so it would hopefully arrive the end of August...

Awe man! I wanted to show off my hangers inside my closet! Of course I'll post up pics of me wearing it...what good are they if the BK is just hanging there? I know how it can be lurking in the shadows with no idea how to ask for more information on any item of gear. Thanks to all the information on this thread and others on the Indy jacket, I think I chose wisely...thanks COW membersPhotoss wrote: Great that you chose one of the best on the market to be your first! Btw post pics as well I want see what that goat BK looks like!

Re: Bill Kelso's Relic Hunter
There will definitely be a review and pics of the goatskin Kelso when I receive it! I wanted something heavy duty for outdoor adventuring, and I think it will fit the bill nicely. I was quoted about 4 weeks, but that was back in early March, so I'm guessing it will be a little while longer. I went with OTR sizing, and am hoping for a good fit (sleeves might need some adjustment though).
Re: Bill Kelso's Relic Hunter
It's your first Indy jacket? Man, GREAT choice! I can't wait for you to get your jacket! Uh...I might be a few weeks behind you, with that new BK Wild Boy....dorian.jedi.master wrote:Awe man! Re: Bill Kelso's Relic Hunter
I ordered my hh at the end of march. I sent a thank you and received an email saying that my server address had been flagged as spam.
I received an email from Any a little over two weeks ago, wanting me to confirm measurements.
I have, and have also sent a couple other emails asking if he got my reply, but now word.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, somewhat. With my order they quoted me one month, and were very quick to get me info on OTR measurements. That's the last I heard of them until this morning. I actually never received an order confirmation email. After about 6 or so weeks I sent an email requesting an update. (I wasn't in any rush, but just wanted to know how things were proceeding, half wanting to confirm they actually received my order!). I did expect the jacket to take two months or so, and it has. It seems communication with them has always been a bit spotty.Canasta wrote:I ordered my hh at the end of march. Ok I have the jacket in my hands! First impression, you can see where the money went. If you guys have the funds, definitely buy this jacket! I'll post up pictures as soon as this weather clears up along with detailed measurements of myself to compare with the sizing of the BK. This jacket is awesome looks straight off the movie set...stolen from the wardrobe dept of Raiders. More details as soon as I can get my camera set up with better lighting indoors and out! The smell is intoxicating...so good

Sometimes don't get emails from certain @domains.
My advice is, get yourself a Gmail or hotmail account.
Those messages always arrive ok.

Thanks, Andy!
Re: Bill Kelso's Relic Hunter
I received my goatskin Relic Hunter a few days back, and it's great! Shipping only took a week from Athens to San Diego. Pics to follow after I work this weekend, and charge my camera! (I don't own a smartphone.)

Gusset shot:
Close up of that tasty-smelling leather; lots of character waiting to come out here!
A full review with lots of pictures will be given soon, but for now, I have to say that this is pretty lightweight for goatskin! Once the break-in period is done, it should look outstanding. It was a little stiff when I first got it, but it's far more pliable now. Until I get it to my perfect break-in level though, it's getting crumpled and dropped everywhere. I gained some weight due to a medical issue, so it's tight in the shoulders and body, but I'm slowly heading back down to my normal size, and my Kelso is a great motivator.

Re: Bill Kelso's Relic Hunter
Very nice! That looks like high quality goatskin. Great color, too. That is going to last a lifetime.
Re: Bill Kelso's Relic Hunter
Is that the actual color? It looks sort of medium brown.
Re: Bill Kelso's Relic Hunter
That's true, though I think some of that is the lighting. Its truest colour is found in the last picture (of the pocket flap). I'd call it dark brown, but it's not as dark as some; it might depend on your idea of 'dark'. If your idea of dark brown is Wested's authentic brown, then this is dark brown. If your idea of dark brown is G&B's dark brown (which is close to black), than this jacket would be medium brown. Sorry if that was hard to understand.Tyrloch wrote:Is that the actual color? Re: Bill Kelso's Relic Hunter
Very nice, but hanging on a hanger just doesn't do this jacket justice. I'd love to pull the trigger on one of these, some day I will.
But it's not going to be based on pictures of jackets on a hanger.
So come on guy's don't be shy, either gear up and have some fun, or just in street close. Matters not to me. I just want to see them being worn. Especially yoursknibs7 yours looks awesome.
Sorry I don't mean to sound like I'm on a soap box. I'm extremely jealous, trust me.

Re: Bill Kelso's Relic Hunter
Photosss, FANTASTIC jacket!!! I can't wait to see it after it's been worn!! Congrats!
I just searched a bunch of photos for appearances of my BK's. So none of these photos actually "feature" the jacket, but anyways.
Victory Horse RH.
Striated Lamb
Formerly Andy's jacket (really awesome jacket, I loved it, but sold it to Hector to get the above Striated)

Re: Bill Kelso's Relic Hunter
The cut and finish of the jacket look great, but I was hoping for a little darker brown in color. I may just need to save up a bit more and go for the horsehide...
Re: Bill Kelso's Relic Hunter
Baldwin, which shade of brown is that Victory HH in the first pic?
Re: Bill Kelso's Relic Hunter
Really impressed with that horsehide, Baldwyn... Any more pics of it laying around? Great robot by the way... And that must be your daughter with the "I totally have no idea who this guy in the jacket is" look on her face.
