I don't know what they plan on using in the new Indiana Jones Movie, but I was wondering what I would want it to be. I am still on the fence, but I think I would love a change up in the color scheme. So, I ask you all...what would you like to see as the new Indy whip?
Definitely not a Jacka.
Color? Depends how they reboot this. If younger obviously a more natural tan in the early stages of its life.
However if going for the worn look, I think saddle tan would be dark enough. I do hope they keep it simple and don't do a multi colored plaited belly.

I was going to say exactly the same thing, Chewie! Anything, as long as it gets USED!

I think the reason it feels SO under used in CS is it got used twice in the opening sequence and not again until the very end of the movie.

Partly, yes. And I kind of see the first two as one use, which is to say, used in one scene. Then the little bot at the end.
But also, there is a great deal of "business" about the whip in the first three, as evidence from Jeff's list. It just a matter of Indy using the whip to whip at something. In CS, the whip is kind of just... there. When he isn't specifically whipping, the thing gets less signifcance then the dust on his jacket. In the other three movies, the whip was almost a mute sidekick, getting it's own jokes, it's own close-ups, it's own moments to shine.

I forgot perhaps the most important use, "You throw me the Idol, I throw you the whip."

Wasn't there a scene in the conquistador graveyard he used the whip. I remember it because we get to see Indy gather and coil his whip and holster it.
Indy got his whip ready, but never actually used it in the cemetery. However, there is a deleted scene of Indy disarming one of the Cemetery Warriors who has Mutt's knife... Don't remember Indy holstering his whip in CS
I actually hate how he uses the whip to dissarm the guy in CS. So akward moment. And look how stiff and unused that whip looks when he holds it together with the gun..
