Wear at least a hat and some kind of glasses. I wear glasses so I don't have to worry about that, but make sure you are.kwad wrote:Couldn't hurt.lantzn wrote:Maybe I should wear one of these?riku1914 wrote:My first day playing around with a whip ( was a junk one I made ) I got slapped in the face, you can expect this. Plus it goes great with Todd's TOD machete.
Glasses will be enough, you CAN wear those construction ones , but it would be overkill, though I suppose it might protect yourlantzn wrote:Thanks for the advice. I wear glasses and will also wear my construction ones over them.
Do what I did, just start playing around w it. Then after a few days it should be pretty natural.lantzn wrote:

lantzn, can we get some pics when you get it?
I'd like to see one of the transition stiffness, when help with the handle pointing up, with the heel knot towards the ground to see
how I should make my indy 4 whip.
That my friend, was an adventure all to itself....lantzn wrote:My whip arrived! I can't wait to get home. It took forever to get here because it was lost and the seller had to track it down USPS.
Let me know if these are sufficient.riku1914 wrote:PICS PICS PICS PICS

Please don't do it. It will age on it's own, don't be in a hurry to make it"old" enjoy it's newness while it's here, then enjoy it beinglantzn wrote:Has anyone done the dyeing and distressing to their whip according to what Anthony DeLongis did to them for the movie? I just heard about it and was wondering what you all thought.
I did it to mine the day I got it. It turned out awesome!lantzn wrote:Has anyone done the dyeing and distressing to their whip according to what Anthony DeLongis did to them for the movie? I just heard about it and was wondering what you all thought.

In all likelyhood, just some very dark brown ( or black ) leather dye.lantzn wrote:Well I took my whip out for a first practice, ever with a whip, and after some time started to get the hang of it to make it crack! What a blast, and I only smacked myself twice when the whip would swing back around and got me on the return. I'm learning fast on not what to do.Wow does your arm burn after awhile, its like a workout.
So Kyle what did you use to darken the knobs on yours?

I never did dye the knots. I think it aged nicely.riku1914 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2011 10:21 pmPlease don't do it.
