I said the same thing when I got my LC strap! Wade's stuff is in it's own league. That would be the International League of Freakin' Awesome Stuff (or ILFAS as those in the know call it)!

Thanks for the side by side strap comparison. That reallly helps to differenciate them. If I ever upgrade my Todd's Deluxe strap, I think I'll pick up one of Wades, although it would have been nice to see a before and after shot of your stap distressing. The new strap matches your holster very well. Where is your holster from and did you distress that any at all?

Michael, what color is that strap?

That pic of you on the balcony could land you a job as Harrison's double in Indy V!

Very nice addition to your Indy gear Michael. It definitely has me considering one of these over my very own Noel Howard strap. I love the beat in look to it. Thanks for showing it off the way you did. Definitely sells it. :TOH:

Anytime Michael. Yeah, I wished I ran into you as well. Us Joneses are to few and far between, especially at a giant Con.

Have you given it the bleed test or does Wade insure that it will not do such. If so then GREAT! Even the NH straps have done so. :(

I treat the undersides of the straps with a special treatment which sets the dye in and should not leave any residue. I use my own straps on my expensive Indy shirts and others and have had no staining problems even when sweaty.

Many times when the strap is new, the residue left is just 'dye dust' which comes from the leather loosening up and letting go of some of the stiffness. This will sometimes leave 'dust' or slight coloration, but it should wash out in cold water with no problem. I use water based dye and the solution so if ever anyone has some transfer when first putting on the strap, simply wash the garment right away and it should wash out.

One preventative step you can take is to wipe the new strap with a damp cloth when you first get it. This will hopefully remove any dust.

I use my bag strap from Wade all the time, and other than that new strap dust he was talking about, I have had no ill effects.

Michael, I just ordered my bag and strap, Khaki and brown regular belts, a gunbelt with whipholder and a pair of gloves from Wade. If it looks anything like your stuff, I should be very happy!

I ordered my SOC strap from Wade today, as well as an authentic MKVII from WPG.
With any luck, they will arrive on the same day so I can hook them up together...like a match made in heaven!

Wow, beautiful strap, very nice!

And is that shirt a Todd's? The whole outfit is excellent and the strap really completes it! Congrats.

Well, your pics here have sold me on a Todd's shirt...I wasn't sure which way to go, but between doing some research here and these pics, I think Todd's is the one for me...so thanks for sharing!

And that strap is really something, looks great on it's own and with all the other gear.

The cool thing about your full gear shots is that not only do you look like Indy from the films, you also resemble the Jim Steranko concept paintings! Good stuff man, can't say enough good things about the look you've created!

Glad the review was helpful, 'johnny! :D Be sure and post pics of your new/old strap as I am curious about the strap from the other 3 films. Thanks for posting! :)

Michael :TOH:
I certainly will! Wade actually just emailed me to ask what buckle style I wanted...after checking IndyGear, I went with Crystal Skull. I think I prefer that style, both aesthetically and functionally over any other.

The way my gear is going is that it's really going to be an amalgam of all the films, my favorite gear from each movie combine...I'm getting there!

Hi Micheal/Tunderraider, your this thread and Wades offer of 20% helped me to decide to get a SOC bag strap from Wade, well I've recived, he does do nice work. Well going over this thread and you talked about further distressing.
I used olive oil, Pecard's, and sunlight. I 'rolled' the leather 'inside out' to increase the wrinkles and soften it up. I also used some leather dye and a paintbrush to darken the edges and striations, as if sweat had stained them.
Can you get into a little more detail as to how you applied the olive oil (was it extra virgin olive oil )(rachel Ray wouldn't have it any other way  )

I want to add just some more distressing to darken it up just a bit more.
So can you get more detailed for me, or if you wan t you can PM me the technique.

Croft
ps: I do love your gear, you've done an out standing job, and ya, you'll get used to taking pics of your self as Indy, I have a blast doing it.
