COW members who participated in my first run of Nurhachi Urn Resin Replica may be aware that "The Last Crusade" is the first Indy movie I saw in the theater. It is my favorite Indiana Jones movie, and is the reason why I became a serious Indiana Jones collector. I have been doing the research on the LC shirt since 1997, which is the year I completed my first Indy gear with parts from original suppliers, and local made shirt and pants. In November 1998, I took a trip to England where I visited Wested Leather, and Andre Dometakis’ "A. A. Dometakis Shirts Made to Measure" store. Although, I did not meet Andre in person, I did pay him a 120GBP cashier check for a shirt to be made. Eleven years have passed, today I am still waiting for Andre’s custom made shirt, I actually call to remind him once in a while, but the shirt just never came through.
While waiting for Andre’s shirt, I was also working on my own version of the Indy shirt. However, the project kind of stopped when I received my MBA pants in 1999, and then followed by the MBA shirt. While helping with the making of Jedi costumes for an official Star Wars event in Taiwan in 2003, I reviewed my research data, sketches, photos of LC shirt with my tailors, and started seeking the possibility for a mass production. At the time, I also emailed Mr. Lee Keppler to see if there was any opportunity for collaboration. Unfortunately he did not plan to invest any fund to this project, and I was not able to produce the shirts on my own, so the project went dead.
With returning of Indiana Jones movie, I re-initiated my LC shirt project in summer 2008. Based on my previous researched data, and newer photos found onlne, and plus 1080P frame captures, we made a prototype of the LC shirt in August 2007. The shirt is made by highly skilled tailors who had helped me in providing a very limited run of Anakin outer tunics to the 501st members in 2007 just before Star Wars Celebration IV. Today these outer tunics are still recognized as one of the best quality tunics by many members at Sons of the Suns forum (One of the SOTS members is also an active member at COW).
Since my tailors are always occupied on their own brand and regular OEM productions. We were not able to revise the prototype until this May, but they were caught up by one of their OEM productions, our shirt production was postponed until Mid-July. Otherwise this shirt should be revealed before my revised Nurhachi urn replica. Any way, good thing worth to wait. The result turned out great. This is probably by far the best LC shirt ever. It comes with correct placement of epaulettes and pockets, correct style of shoulder seam and york seam, dark colored buttons, and plus other details. With a little change, it can also be a good TOD shirt.
Again, I hope you will like my recent projects. I have a few other projects for later this year in mind, Stay tuned for more information.
