Azuma's projects #2 of 3 - The Last Crusade Shirt
The Last Crusade Shirt
COW members who participated in my first run of Nurhachi Urn Resin Replica may be aware that "The Last Crusade" is the first Indy movie I saw in the theater. It is my favorite Indiana Jones movie, and is the reason why I became a serious Indiana Jones collector. I have been doing the research on the LC shirt since 1997, which is the year I completed my first Indy gear with parts from original suppliers, and local made shirt and pants. In November 1998, I took a trip to England where I visited Wested Leather, and Andre Dometakis’ "A. A. Dometakis Shirts Made to Measure" store. Although, I did not meet Andre in person, I did pay him a 120GBP cashier check for a shirt to be made. Eleven years have passed, today I am still waiting for Andre’s custom made shirt, I actually call to remind him once in a while, but the shirt just never came through.
While waiting for Andre’s shirt, I was also working on my own version of the Indy shirt. However, the project kind of stopped when I received my MBA pants in 1999, and then followed by the MBA shirt. While helping with the making of Jedi costumes for an official Star Wars event in Taiwan in 2003, I reviewed my research data, sketches, photos of LC shirt with my tailors, and started seeking the possibility for a mass production. At the time, I also emailed Mr. Lee Keppler to see if there was any opportunity for collaboration. Unfortunately he did not plan to invest any fund to this project, and I was not able to produce the shirts on my own, so the project went dead.
With returning of Indiana Jones movie, I re-initiated my LC shirt project in summer 2008. Based on my previous researched data, and newer photos found onlne, and plus 1080P frame captures, we made a prototype of the LC shirt in August 2007. The shirt is made by highly skilled tailors who had helped me in providing a very limited run of Anakin outer tunics to the 501st members in 2007 just before Star Wars Celebration IV. Today these outer tunics are still recognized as one of the best quality tunics by many members at Sons of the Suns forum (One of the SOTS members is also an active member at COW).
Since my tailors are always occupied on their own brand and regular OEM productions. We were not able to revise the prototype until this May, but they were caught up by one of their OEM productions, our shirt production was postponed until Mid-July. Otherwise this shirt should be revealed before my revised Nurhachi urn replica. Any way, good thing worth to wait. The result turned out great. This is probably by far the best LC shirt ever. It comes with correct placement of epaulettes and pockets, correct style of shoulder seam and york seam, dark colored buttons, and plus other details. With a little change, it can also be a good TOD shirt.
Again, I hope you will like my recent projects. I have a few other projects for later this year in mind, Stay tuned for more information.

yes! Yes! YES!
Re: Azuma's projects #2 of 3 - The Last Crusade Shirt
That is A LOT of shirts! Just awesome. Cannot wait for more details.
Re: Azuma's projects #2 of 3 - The Last Crusade Shirt
Well at least someone is taking care of the Last Crusade shirt which, on its own, it's a whole different animal from the other two shirts (of the trilogy).
I'll be curious to see the first review and customer pictures.
If I may say just one thing, the seams seems to be too visible, if you know what I mean. It could be just the flash light from the camera but they seem to be very eye-catching.
What material are these shirts made of?

Re: Azuma's projects #2 of 3 - The Last Crusade Shirt
Hi Erri,
The seams are visible because of the flash. They are not too obvious when seeing in person. Basically, the fabric is 100% cotton. It feels like the fabric used on MBA's Indy shirt, but not exact match. And under strong sunlight, the color is close enough to MBA's, but when compare them indoor, it is less pink I think.

During the visit to Flight Suit, I was lucky enough to meet three of you in person!! And I was totally excited. You guys are the legendary members at Indyfan Forum. Thanks to you all for making the Flight Suit Indy jacket happen, so that we can have awesome Indy jackets. Thank you Michaelson and _ for sharing the information. I can totally understand. There are similar scenarios that happened among Star Wars fans, and it seems to be unavoidable sometimes...

Re: Azuma's projects #2 of 3 - The Last Crusade Shirt
Oh, and I have a quick question. You said you have an MBA shirt, will these shirts be the same sizes as the MBA and NH shirts? I have a NH shirt in a size Large that fits me perfectly, and would love to get another similiar shirt in the same size.
Re: Azuma's projects #2 of 3 - The Last Crusade Shirt
Size is different then MBA/NH shirt, I will post spec of the shirt later.

Re: Azuma's projects #2 of 3 - The Last Crusade Shirt
Hello,
The first batch of the shirt was supposedly to be ready about two weeks ago, however there was a unexpected incident occured during the final stage (put on the buttons), thus we have to pull the shirts off, and making another new batch. We are expecting the new batch to be ready in few weeks. Will keep everyone updated.
Best regards,
Azuma

Re: Azuma's projects #2 of 3 - The Last Crusade Shirt
There is no label for the current run. I do have have some label samples made by the label company, but I am not going to use them until Sam and I settle on the name.
We got the new batch of 30 shirts back last night, and took some photos for color reference today. You can check the link below:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3492/394 ... 2000_o.jpg
FYI, the shirt on the left is from NH, shirt in the center is Azuma’s 1st prototype, and the shirt on the right is Azuma’s 2nd prototype (same material is used on final product)
They are ready to go now. I will post them on Cairo Bazaar tomorrow, once I figure out the shipping for different locations.
Best regards,
Azuma

No XL for now, but if you check the spec on our shirts, you may find our L is similar to Flightsuit's XL or Todd's LB. My suggestion is take look of the spec chart for sizie details. =)
