I'm almost three months in for my second Penman and it feels like I ordered yesterday. Heck, It doesn't feel like I've been waiting as long as I have for my AB. Just push it out of your mind. The worst is when John tells you, "Your hats on the block." Then the couple of days it takes him to finish the hat feels like a cople of months. You feeling like goingjnicktem wrote:Yes, congrats! Before you know it, you will have your Penman LC sitting on your head!
Time will go by fast, I am already a month into my wait!

GORGEOUS
(I mean... I've seen it BEFORE... but it bears repeating!)
It's easy to see why you love it, my friend.

My dad always told me, "You can wait patiently or impatiently, but either way, you're still going to wait." Somehow, I still tend to choose to wait impatiently more often than not.Jonny Whip Crack wrote:I don't mind the wait... you can't rush perfection.![]()

Iit is rare that I am this impressed by a hat. It really is one of the most beautiful hats I have ever seen. Congratulatons on a fine, fine hat. And John,.

Don't be so modest. Its mainly due to your general awesomeness at hatmaking.BendingOak wrote:DR Ulloa wrote:Wow! I am blown away!![]()

Thats because he went out side in good light. Had some one take good photo's. these are great shots. They show of the hat very well.
Nebraska Schulte wrote:ksteryous, I have to agree: you wear it very well.(...) I really like this scholarly attire with the hat--they go quite well together.

Great photos, great clothes (jacket, bowtie, everything), great lighting...
and of course:
GREAT FEDORA.
I agree....no doubt that the LC hat is more suited to this type of dress than the Raiders. Even though the Raiders doesn't look bad with nicer clothes either, but the Raiders definitely screams out leather jacket and adventure shirt.Barcelona Jones wrote:I second that absolutely! These fedoras make a great companion to dressy clothes. And the stereotypical "scholarly" bowtie is particularly adequate.
Maybe we should open a "Indy hat as dress hat" thread...![]()

Oh...dressing up are we. We got us a schmoozer here people! And you know what...I appreciate that! Highest Marks!!!!!!To you and Oak! I can hardly wait to order mine!!!A++++++++++++++ksteryous wrote:Ok, here you go...nothing like a teacher putting pressure on you to get a job done....Hollowpond wrote:OK, ksteryous...Hows bout them outdoor pics? A few taken quickly before work this morning.
I would say the reason the Raiders style seems to belong more to adventure (or casual, at leastksteryous wrote:I agree....no doubt that the LC hat is more suited to this type of dress than the Raiders. I think I've always associated the LC hat with the professor, bowtie look because of the scene just after Indy crawls out of the window of the college and is stopped by the 3 bad guys who take him to Donavan.

I had to chuckle at that post, Oak. It's frustrating enough just trying to get a read on a particular hat from distorted cell-phone pics. It must be really rough looking at something you've created and are trying to present in a good light, so to speak..."No no no no no...Stop doing that to my hat, darn you!"BendingOak wrote:DR Ulloa wrote:Wow! Feel free to....I couldn't very well tell the maker of the hat "No", now could I???BendingOak wrote: Ksteryous, and very nice shots. I want to use them.
