Let me introduce our Whip Basics Indiana Jones 8 plait whip. If you say now: “Okay, one more budget whip... So what?”
There's a significant difference to all the other budget whips.

The bellies and the overlay are 1st grade roohide!

The budget whips are usually entirely made from cowhide. Not this one. The bolsters are cowhide. As some whipmakers use for
their 12 plaits, too. Here you have an 8 plait whip with bellies and overlay from roohide! It's the same high quality leather you'll find
on the much more expensive 12 plaiters. That's the difference. So... Not just another one. It's the WBSR Indiana Jones Budget whip.
In fact that whip fills a niche. It’s in the middle between the cheaper IOAB whips and the more expensive 12 plaiters. Here you have
for less money the same quality roohide as used in the expensive “large” whips. Just in 8 plait.
















So we offer our customers two versions now.

The high end Raiders style whip - made entirely from 1st grade kangaroo hide.

The economy version - 8 plait - core and bolsters cowhide, but bellies and overlay
again made from 1st grade roohide.

I like this one Robby! I think you have a winner here. Despite being 8-plait, it looks waaaay more Indy than your other "high end" Indy whip. Its shape and proportions are spot on. I would buy this one. As for the leather used inside, I don't really mind; as long as it has a braided belly, I'm happy. Hope the price is within the Budget range too

Looks great - I can't wait to see how "budget" it is. As I am fairly new to the whip scene I have a question. Will there be much difference in performance and/or durability between a 12 plait and an 8 plait? This is just a general knowledge question for those with much more experience than me.

That's a lot of comments in a short time... Wow - thanks for that. Truly.

But to the details. As I wrote in the description - it's exactly in the middle between the usual budget whips and the great 12 plaiters.
A budget whip is ie. 160.00 USD. A roohide 12 plaiter is 500.00 USD. So this whip will be in the range of 260.00 USD. In the middle.
As I said. And as all the other prices I mentioned... always plus shipping. The actual price will be exactly 200.00 Euros. What's that
in US Dollars depends on the daily course. The onlineshop will open within the next four weeks. But... If somebody's interested to

And for Ryan. To answer your question. It always depends on the quality of the plaiting. You can have a 12 or 16 plait and the whip
behaves like a wet noodle. You can have a 8 plait and the sun is shining down on you.

Ie: In the whip basics shop we have that traditional made wooden handled bullwhip from Victor SanSoucie (http://indygear.com/cow/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=38142).

It's 8 plait and a great and accurate whip. You can use it for multiple cracking and for target work, too. It's a kind of allrounder.
So that 8 plait Indy whip we have in the WBSR is braided tight and it rolls out very straight. It cracks where you want it to crack.
I think that's what you expect from a whip, right?

To be honest - I think that it comes in the end to a question of philosophy. I like 8 plaited whips, 12 and 16 plaited. Someone who
wants it straight SA will accept nothing then a 12 plait. But that has it's price. If you say, I'd like roohide, but I don't want (or can't)
spend 500.00 Dollars, that WBSR Indy whip could be exactly your thing. At the end - and that's my personal opinion - I ask myself
how many whips that whipmaker has braided. How much experience is in all that. And I'm also interested in the variety of whips a maker
has in his/her programm. Karol - if you check his website - is in the business for a few years now. But he has that variety. Not only Indy,
but also stock- and snakewhips. That means experience in the field.

I have his whip here - of course I have... - and I know how it behaves; how it cracks. Well, I have all the whips here, that will be offered
in the WB shop. And trust me... Every whipmaker; every whip has to pass me before it comes into the shop. And when it comes to the
Whip Basics stuff, I'm a real nitpicker. I hope that answers some of your questions. And - again - you can write me pm or email.

Karol and I were talking a lot about how to create kind of budget whip with
a special feature for that WBSR. In the end we came to the roohide version,
which is a new style of budget whip. Actually it is the little sister of the
12 plaiters

For the length. That whip will be offered exclusively over the the WB shop
and - in the beginning - only in 8 foot. Later on we're aiming on to offer it
in 10 ft. too.

In my last post I totally forgot to mention the shipping costs... Sorry.
First of all - we don't bill any "handling". Just that what's on the box.
Europe is 10.00 Euro, USA is 15.00 Euro. Roundabout 19.00 US Dollar.

Next week we'll have the new pics from the prototype bag, and then on
