Good luck comes with a price....well last night around 12:30 my parents were coming back from picking someone up at the airport and well they ran out of gas on the highway. So they called AAA and they sent a fuel truck and well they put some gas but it still wouldn't start so they found out there was a problem with the fuel pump and so they had to get it towed 50 miles to home, they finally got home around 4 am. :(

Wow! From a photography perspective, your lighting is great. Whoever did a)the red lighting and b)the one in the toilet bowl should be given a medal.

I just wish you were holding one of those really big rubber plungers and had a plumbing snake on your belt instead of a whip...
Oh, good idea! And thanks for the kind words! I'm doing kind of a countdown to Indy 4 on flickr. This was the best one, though.

My understanding is that answer is a resounding "NO". In the words of Marc, "Adventurebilts are made with the idea that they should protect YOU from the elements, not the other way around."

Now, granted, I don't know of all the differences between an AB Deluxe and a regular AB......but I believe you've got water repellent "cooked" into the felt so you will probably notice that the water "beads" up on your hat rather than soaking in immediately.

You should be fine! :)

Tony, great hat!

And don't worry about the rain, TT. That's what a good hat is for, and you've got one of the best.

That's a sharp looking fedora, Tony--it suits you. Another AB masterpiece!

Makes me all the more eager to get mine--hopefully in time for the archaeological dig this summer...

Here's a recent pic of my KotCS AB that I've had for about two years now. It had a Raiders bash that whole time up until March or so, when Steve reblocked it for me into a KotCS look.

Strider, that hat is just striking!!! What a great hat. Each AB or AB Deluxe really is an individual piece of art.

Im obviously 20+ or so days late from seeing this pic... but WOW. The lighting inside the toilet just sets it up perfect.

And the red light..... it's a perfect cinematic "danger approaches" moment.

again, WOW

It might be inappropriate of me, but congratulations on your new hat. When I saw it, it was seeing someone's newborn baby. You're a very lucky man.

Here's a pic of my AB Crystal Skull bash I just got from Fedora, I had to use some denatured water in a spray bottle to tweak the front brim down just a tad, but this is one nice lid. Funny, I'm so used a Raiders pinch and look that I find my self looking into any reflecting surface to see how I look in it, oh thy name is vanity.

Hers a pic, enjoy.
Croft.

They both look great. I need to order a Raiders AB to complement my Crystal Skull AB when I get it and do it before Steve retires. That will be a sad day for the whole gearhead community.

I like the idea of a stunt hat! I never thought of that...I could use a fed IV, but I think my rabbit AB will be my stunt hat and the CS will be the nice hat. Next up on the list is to buy is a Seaplane Grey AB.

I don't think I can let the CS bash go IG, but if I was going to give it away you'd be #1 on the list! :D

Very true it will be a sad day when Steve retires, but also a well deserved day.

I highly recommend getting a raiders bash from Steve, I love my rabbit AB, that hat is Indy to me.

Excellent hats! It's nice to see the rabbit and beaver AB fedoras side by side. Maybe it's my imagination, but I can almost see how the beaver felt is a little smoother texture than the rabbit (or at least a little different "grain" to it). But then again, I can tell which is which from the creases. Kev, can you tell the difference by just looking at the felts of your two hats?

Yes, it will be a much needed vacation for Steve. If I were Steve. I would sleep for the first month straight. In the meantime, however, :whip: . No slacking. Get to work on my CS AB and soon you will get an order for a Raiders AB...I'm just kidding...but not about the Raiders AB.

Thanks! I really like having the hats side by side for comparison, they are both great in their own way. The beaver fet is smoother than the rabbit felt and you can tell the difference in felt by just looking at them. I even tested the comparison on my girlfriend who knows nothing about hats but she could tell the difference as well.

BendingOak - Steve bashed both hats for me. My rabbit AB was my first non DP hat purchase and I wanted it bashed properly, however since I recieved the hat I have adjusted the bash a little bit. For the CS hat I wanted it just like the movie so I let Steve take care of that and I have messed with it at all.

Thanks again for all the compliments!

Alright, I got the first of two new AB's yesterday. I'm waiting on a gray, but here is the Brown.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/27810273@N ... 564349939/

It's a Well of Souls, bashed by Steve origianlly. I had to play with it a while to repair the lumps it took in shipping.

Now, I already own an older AB, a Magnoli HJ, and have had Federations and a Keppler. I can honestly say, this new block shape of Steve's is, hands down, the closest Raiders block I have ever seen. Even my Dad, who would call me "Indy" if I had a pink forest ranger hat on, could see immediately that it really looked like the Raiders hat. I know the Magnoli HJ is supposed to have the same block, but the beaver felt holds it better by leaps and bounds!
