Thank you all for the kind comments. The appreciation for my work and the desire to do things better is what keeps me going in this craft.
The response to this whip has been extremely enthusiastic, and many members are already interested in it. I guess a few good photos help

Dan,
Thanks a lot! Since you are fond of T. Jacka's whips, those words are no small compliment. This whip is my third KOTCS whip, and I'm really pleased of how close it looks to the new Jacka whip. In a sense, my objetive is met, since I wanted to capture the look, a some of the feel of it, while using a somewhat different construction.
I believe Terry uses the same handle foundation for his KOTCS whips as his normal "heavy" whips. It consists of a figerglass rod. His other whips are much lighter and have a flexible foundation made of some resilient material. I, on the other hand used the same heavy spike as for my standard Indy bullwhips. It adds a bit more weight to the handle, and improves the balance, IMO. I also added some lead tape at the butt, again to improve the balance, but I put a lot more than Terry does. Terry adds only a tiny amount of lead, that I wonder if it changes the balance at all. As a reference point, DM typically loads his whips with approx. 100 grams of lead, versus 27 grams that I found on my Jacka.
Dan Borton has been gathering a lot of information directly from Terry himself about his new whip used on Indy 4, so I would expect Dan to post about this some time within the next few weeks.
Regarding ordering an "Official-Unofficial" Jacka from Aussie saddle, I would have done so if their whips were not so over priced. Obvioulsy they've already jumped into the "famous whipmaker" badwagon. I'm sure they make more money than Terry, which is unfair to both final customer and whipmaker. It would be great if Terry can offer his whips directly, so that customers pay less, and he makes more coins.
My converted Jacka handles way better than when it was long handled, at least for me. The shorter handle feels better balanced because it brings the balance point closer to your hand, and with the lead tape I added at the butt, it feels even better. Even so, it feels heavy.
Now that I'm in the US, you may want to send me your Jacka for a conversion, since shipping it back and forth would be cheap. Fancy the idea?
