Thanks Bink! It (my Grandpa's '37 RCA) was the focus of the pics when I took them.... obviously. They're my favorite pics I have of my Fed so far though. I can't take credit for my bash, it must have been done by the previous owner. If a COW member sold it to me on eBay in November.... Thanks again.
I know it is a bad camera quality, but maybe you can see what I tried to save from my Federation which:
- swam three times through a river
- was really nearby a film explosion, a lot of dust
- was creased cause I fell and sat many times
onto it
- Was soaked with film blood
After all I embosomed this hat
I have better pics somewhere, and i think my Fed Deluxe looks better in person, but here are some images from conventions last year. Ill have some new shots in april for Comic Con NY.
A little off topic, what jacket are you wearing, it looks great.

thanks guys, and not to get off topic but my jacket above is a wested raiders goat authentic brown, which i bought about 2 years ago almost. I know i wore it all last winter and this one too, so its def 2 years. Aftering doing some mild spraying with water and drying to shrink a bit when i first got the jacket, more recently i went a bit more overboard. I stuck the jacket in the shower and completely soaked it till it was filled with water. Then i through it in on high heat... lol not the best idea. It pealed a good amount of leather on the front but it looks awesome now very worn in even more. I want to do some more distressing still before i put pecards on and soften it up again, cause it got a bit dryer with using the dryer lol. Anyways goat skin takes the effects of disrestting much better than alot of other skins ive found, at least for distinct textures. The lamb can take a good amount too but it can almsot be too soft sometimes to hold the form. Most of the distressed look is from using fullers earth all over me. After my soaking incodent i also was able to rechape the pocket flaps some and give the illusion of scallops, which this jacket really lacked before hand.
MY hat I love as well, the bash came out well and is a size 60. Has no taper that I really notice. I added the piece of duck tape under the ribbion to give it the streets of cario look more. Also leaving just a bit of fullers earth on the hat keeps it looking very indy. I see too many people with clean gear and if you want to look more indy, youll need to get your hands and gear a bit dirty!
Only 19 more pages to go and we can catch up to that other hat thread...
Everyones hats look great!

Not the most expensive hat out there, but a lot of these are near perfect.
I tip my hat to you all for doing more with less.
Ron
Ive noticed that to. I know bashing is a personal preference, but I've seen alot of people with ABs and other more pricey fedoras, with very non indy looks to them. Id love an AB of course, but I feel my hat comes off very indy in person.

Lighter shade, yes, but same ribbon.
Regards! Michaelson
I was a little thrown off by this when I was on the Hatsdirect website, because the Regular Federation is listed as having a "Mid-Brown" color, and the Federation Deluxe as coming in "Dark-Brown". While waiting for my IM/HJ, I ordered a Regular Federation. My thought was that the regular Fed was lighter than the Fed Deluxe, but your comment seems to indicate otherwise. Is this correct, Michaelson? Cheers!

The Fed Deluxe is a shade lighter than the "mid-brown" of the standard with a slightly more rusty tint. Closer to Indy than the mid-brown but still not quite there.
Great pics and gear...
The pics with the whip and other costume pieces are far mor interesting...
Keep 'em coming in!
Here is my artistic contribution...
Got this Akubra Federation Regular in on Friday the 7th...right before the 12" of snow we got in.....Indiana.
I was hoping to give this baby a non-turned Raiders bash, but it is a LC I think. I wear a 61cm.....any hope of making it looke more like Raiders? I'm trying to roll the back down a little and put more pinch into the pinch, but it won't crease too well just above the ribbon in front...
Here is Junior in his first snow!
jkdbuck76,
For the pinch, I had to get a little tough on mine...
Just pinch the @#$% out if it. I used 2 hands and worked it over for a few minutes. The scene I was trying for was raven bar. I think I got "close enough" for my first bash.
Also turn the sides up so they curl a little more...this took a while to "take" as well.
That being said, that LC bash really works very well on you, you may want to leave it be.
How about a profile shot?
R
This is my fed dlx. I turned it after it had already been bashed for quite some time, that's why you can still see the original pinch. I actually think that's giving it some character. I also trimmed of 1/8" allround to suit my face better.
that hat has been in tons of places including a rain forest and a desert, well technically these days i'm living in a desert so yeah should really update my location

The hat is coming along great!

Pics not working.
Open your photobucket album and click on the IMG url in the menu below the thumbnail.
Paste it into the message.
Thats it!
Okay, after I've learned to post pics in a thread, I will show my federation as well. It's not really "Indianish" (tawny fawn, loose pinch), but, I think, it's a nice looking lid.
