flightsuits raider jacket
Hi Guys. I don't post much but am always reading reviews and thoughts of COW members. Thinking of getting a new jacket for Christmas. Flightsuits raider/Macgyver type jacket intrigues me. Already have Westeds and too many A-2's. Does anyone have any experience w/ the Filightsuits raider? Appreciate any input. Thanks

The Flightsuits "Raiders" jacket is NOT an Indy jacket. Similar though.

I never saw this discussed recently. Wonder how it got it's name??

The style displayed as the FS "Raider" has been around for many years. Different companies call it by different names. It is often referred to as a "helicopter pilot" jacket.
I recall _ once mentioned that it was sold in the old Montgomery Ward catalog. I'm sure he could tell you much more. Search the old threads. It's in there somewhere.
I've seen it in both cow and goat. To me the style looks much better in cowhide. It is a bit heavy in cow, however. If the FS version came with wool knits I would seriously consider getting one myself.
I once had the same style jacket, complete with the piping on the pockets, in khaki cloth. Sorry, no pics, the jackets is long since lost in the mists of time . . .
