Amen to that John. You do get used to it. And don't forget...here in Chicago we can have all four seasons occur in a week.

One last thing John...I could spot that "Chicago" 25' x 25' backyard anywhere! I thank God my Grandparents and my Aunt & Uncle both lived on lakes. There's not much a kid can do in that "Chicago" yard. LOL

Just wanted to drop a note that I received my SOC AB from Steve a couple of days ago. As always he did a fantastic job I've been wearing it right out of the box with hardly any modifications done on my own to it. The hat looks great! Steve's attention to detail is right-on. The differences in the 2 dents are obvious with the crease and valley on the non-ribbon side capture perfectly to my eyes. The brim is also wider than my other AB to accomodate my wider face and I like it! I'll try to get some photos posted ASAP! Until then there is a behind the scences shot of Harrion Ford in full SOC mode where he is photographed from his right with his left arm bracing himself againts a wall a bike tire can be seen below and his right hand is above his holster on his hip. I would say minus the sweat, dirt, and grime and my new AB is a dead ringer for that hat in that pose. Thanks Steve I love my newest AB! :D

I'll do my best to get some pics up soon I promise. I love this new AB it really captures the feel and character of the SOC scene for me. Steve's suggestion for the wider brim made it even better. My other AB is the one you can see in my avatar. I don't recall ever seeing bad looking AB on anyone who has posted their hat on here they all look great to me. We are lucky to have Steve around fulfilling our fedora dreams for us!

Guys, can anyone post a photo of the gray AB offered by Steve. I am having trouble chosing a color.

If any of you can post both the brown and the gray together for comparison, that would be superb.

thanks in advance

Hello All,
I just have to say my brand new and very first AB arrived today! I probably don't need to tell you all just how wonderful it is. . . I am near speechless, anyway! I don't have a digital camera, but do plan on aquiring one so I may post photos. Well worth the wait and more than worth the expense. Until I stumbled onto this site and Fedora's. . . never thought I could find or afford such an item. Thank you so very much, Fedora!
Best Regards,
Hoosier.

:D Yes...welcome Chiliana.

Well... I too, have now joined the AB club. I haven't had enough time to take any pics of it on my head or in my hands but Fedora was kind enough to take a few pics after he had just about finished it and send them via email. It's a quick and dirty bash but you get the idea. In fact...Steve took pics all along the process of making my lid. I intend to have them framed and matted to hang on my wall:) It's beaver of course and I asked for the Cairo look:) My first custom made hat! Wow!!! Beaver is nice

Ahem....back on topic, it fits like a dream and is so comfortable. Also this man's customer service is the best I have ever recieved in my life and I have worked in retail for half of it  I think Steve's service is only surpassed by his product...amazing!!! I intend to wear it to church on Sunday to impress the old guard  Actually an old fella told me after seeing the lid that I am now a real man  Well...he said in his generation when you reached a certain age you purchased your first hat. Now that's a nice tradition that needs to be revitalised huh? I was proud to wear it down town too, I certainly aquired alot of admiring looks. This hat is a thing of beauty!

BTW Thanks to all those wise folk (Erri, and the rest) who convinced me to make the right choice right off the mark! Steve...it's a privlege and an honor mate...thanks a million:) I'll treasure my AB always...mmm....they come in other colurs??? (Checks wallet)

Congratulations Taz, and welcome to the club!

That side profile shot looks fantastic; I wonder if this is one of the first ones done since Steve adjusted the dome on his block?

In any case, fine lid. Be careful, these things are addictive...

I thought he only adjusted the 7 1/4 block (the others already having enough slope in the dome)...what size is yours, Taz?

Unfortunately, my family doesn't have a digital camera, so when I got my AB - about a year ago - there was no way to post pictures of it on COW. Just a couple weeks ago, though, I was visiting relatives in Connecticut, and my second cousin has a digital camera, and snapped a few photo's of me for the scrap books she does. One of which was me wearing my (relatively) new hat. Here's the pic, sorry if it's a bit blurry and I'm not very photogenic.

Where's that Barranca faceplant emote that Canyon likes to use? In lieu of that... :notworthy: Wow, Tone. Wow.

Tone, stop posting pics or I'm going to burn my hats. Did you turn and rebash that AB? I knew it was an AB from the floppy brim. An Akubra would never do that.

Hey Tone, make sure you bring your great looking hats to the Finger Lakes Summit. With all the sets and screen used props and movie used vehicles that Curator Rick is making available to us, you are going to come away with some incredible photos my friend.
