Re: The G&B Expedition gone?

I have to say this one is hitting me particularly hard. After stumbling on here a few years ago, poking around and researching for a while, and getting some MAJOR assistance from M and others, I settled on the Goat Expedition as my first dip in the pool. A pair of Aldens and a couple of MKVII's late...

Sizing comparisons

Random question, folks. Have a OTR G&B Expedition that I picked up here a few years ago. Absolutely love it- it's a tank. But, the bug is biting me again, and looking for a second jacket. Have my eye on a USW cow on the Bay. Problem is sizing. The USW is a XXL, and the G&B is a 48R. The G&am...

Re: Bag straps for MKVII

Went with MIJ, SOC, no distressing. I can do that part on my own through a lot of use. Very excited to see what the new bag (WPG authentic) and strap end up looking like. I have no doubt I'll be very pleased with both.

Re: Bag straps for MKVII

If you compare Magnoli and MIJ prices, including shipping to the US, they are pretty much the same. Both straps are about $45 all in, which I find to be an absolutely outstanding deal given the quality of the leather, hand made, etc. In my mind, I'd rather spend $45 once for a strap that will last f...

Re: Bag straps for MKVII

The Magnoli strap, recommended above, is also a strong contender. All things being equal, Magnoli or MIJ? Both are a push on the price, and quality looks pretty darn amazing on both. I know the concensus is likely that you can't go wrong with either, but if you had to choose one, what would it be?

Bag straps for MKVII

About to finally snag a real deal bag at long last. I'm on the fence about straps, though. Between Make it Jones and WPG, I assume Make it Jones would get the most nods? I'm primarily going to use the bag as a camera bag for my SLR so I dont have to haul an obvious and cheesy looking camera bag arou...

Re: As for leather jackets and humidity

I like that theory that the outfit was a sort of general get up that just was worn all over the place. It sort of makes sense that way. Indy dresses in suits in class, but transforms into the outfit when he goes out on a hunt. Maybe it will be hot, maybe cold. But the outfit doesn't change. It also ...

As for leather jackets and humidity

I remember reading a few posts that discussed the possible reasons why Indy wears a leather jacket in the Amazon, and other warm weather climates. There was something about "it's good for mosquitos and bugs", or some such on those lines. Let me tell you, that's bunk. I'm in Siem Reap, Camb...

Saw this online today. Very nice write-up on the history of Wested, Peter, and his role in developing the original Raiders jacket:

I finally heard back from sarge, and he suggested an XL in a signature series, as a lot of you guys did. In the meantime, I found a very fine looking goat expedition in 48R. Great screen grabs! Its funny, but the mind sees what it wants to see.
