Thank you all for the compliments. About customizing- I am keeping this whip exactly as is. All its characteristics are what make it the De Longis whip. Especially the length. I would not however have a problem with initialing the ferrule if I were set up to do so. This whip has the same internal co...

Re: Burning a hat?! Penman, you ever try this?

I know this is a bit off the subject but there are some straw hats on the web with designs burned onto them.
This is done with a small propane torch that burns through the openings of a thin metal stencil leaving a desired
pattern.

Anyway back to the thread :whip:

Also I have yet to see a clear picture of the "Drag Whip" actually used behind the truck so this could very well be it. Maybe :-k

Nice whip,

What gets me is how the plaiting is straight but the whip is coiled side ways.
You can tell by the direction of the braid and the side ways position of the wrist loop.

Is the heel knot hard and heavy like it has lead in it?

This is a question I get asked a lot by customers. My answer is of course only an opinion but my favorite whip is a 7 & 1/2 ft bullwhip with a 10 inch handle foundation and stiffer transition. Not quite Indy 4 stiff but too stiff to coil up and wear on your belt. It has a 30inch fall making it l...

You can also see how the Ness' has a deeper cup in the back and sides of the brim to give it that vintage non Indy look.
