Re: The 'Streets Of Cairo' Hat Display Page

I'm very impressed with the skills of members like fedoraiders and Holt. The only thing that always bothered me on the Federation is the color never seems right. So, I was pleasantly surprised when I got my Henry. That color was spot on, in my eyes. The pics I have posted before and are a bit overl...

Re: The Federation IV Display Page

My new fed IV came with the ribbon like that, too. It just may be the way they stitch the ribbon to the regular fed IV. Nothing on my hat was loose, so I slightly changed it a bit. I had a Regular in the past and the bow looks like the one on my Deluxe. ;) Plus, this is the first of all the Akubra ...

Re: The Federation IV Display Page

Greetings all. I received my new Fed IV yesterday. Very nice indeed. Not sure about the blocking style I will end up with. As you will see I gave it a quick LC look as I was running between film shoots. After seeing what Penman can do with one of these I may be going that route. Very nice work! Any...

I think a flange would solve your problem. If you pay for shipping to and from. I would offer to flange the hat for free.
What's a flange, sorry, I'm not a major hat expert. Emphasis on major.

Re: Flattening A Brim

Here we go. My brim snapped down way to far for me. http://twitpic.com/1a3xg7 THis is the left side curled up, and it dips down then curls up. http://twitpic.com/1a3xfd This is the right side of my brim flattened out, which causes the front to bend down too far. http://twitpic.com/1a3xht This is my ...

Re: Flattening A Brim

The Indy hat is characterized by a slightly upward curl on the back portion, and slightly curved downward in front. I like the back of my hat very much, it looks rather good. It's the front and sides that bother me, If I could flatten the front and sides, then I would be much happier with my hat fo...

Flattening A Brim

I own an Officially licensed hat I got from Disneyland a couple of years ago, but as I reshaped it, the only problem I have with it is the brim. This brim wasn't originally flat, it was shape to slouch some what. So, I was wondering of someone knows how to flatten this kind of brim, and if so, shoul...

After seeing this post, I really want to buy one of those! I've been looking at the same jacket for two months, but didn't know how well the jacket might fit or how light or heavy it might be. Unfortunately, I don't know when I'll be able to order one.

Re: Could the Raiders crease actually be bad for the felt

My hat has started to wear out near the top of the crease, as I can never quite get the shape the way I want it. So I believe that handling the crease like that may cause it to wear down.

Re: Post your Officially Licensed Indy hats here!

http://twitpic.com/zy7og It looks okay, it took me a long time to get it looking like this. but it shrank a bit since I wet it, so when I wear it, the front brim slightly warps from the shape I want it. http://twitpic.com/zy80f here's me wearing it. Re: Are fedoras making a come-back in your area?

I see a wide variety of hats in my small town, and the majority of them are either those smaller brimmed fedoras or older gentlemen wearing hats similar to fedoras. I think I'm probably the only person in my town that wears a fedora, besides a COUPLE people that are way older than myself. It makes m...

Where do you get a blank hat like that? By 'blank' I assume you mean an uncreased, or unbashed hat. The Akubra Federations, the current one being the IV, comes uncreased, and you do it yourself. I have this officially licensed Indiana Jones fedora that I have rebashed, but the brim isn't quite the way I want it. Ah... yes, unfortunately I don't know what was actually used in the movies. But I do think the gold polishing cloth would work well.
