Any hope on an 09 AB Order?

I ordered an Adventurebilt CS Beaver back in March of 2009..... spent around 430.00 dollars if I remember correctly with the shipping. With the nearly six years since that order I've had one email conversation with Steve about the order but that's it. I know that the chance to recover the money has ...

Re: My vintage Stetson Indy creased fedora

Wow! She's a beauty!!

Steve, you were saying that a vintage hat like that is most resistant to tapering? What makes one like that more durable than our modern felt hats?

What a great score on Ebay!

Re: Fed IV with cowboy boots???

Well Randy I live in South Florida so there are times in the summer when the temperature crosses the 100 degree mark (with humidity) :Dietrich: and flip flop are pretty nice. I think a great looking hat can be worn with lots of different things, but in today's fashion they just seem to work with dar...

Re: Penman or Penman Henry?

John, What are your wait times as of now for one of your custom beaver or rabbit hats? John :TOH: Just to add to the conversation.... I feel that the Henry is a great hat (I have one myself), but its not custom hat. I have to wonder if the 20% beaver adds to its durability, or does it just give it a...

Re: Fed IV with cowboy boots???

Welcome! :TOH:

I wear my Fed like a baseball cap. (with pretty much anything!) I actually think it looks best paired with a T-shirt, Cargo shorts, and flip flops. Sometimes I'll add the satchel, and I think you end up with a well coordinated look.

Re: My Akubra Fed IV

I'm not sure if I missed how long you had your Fed, but it will lighten and soften alot over time. The best way to break them in is just to wear them.

I have a fed in each color and various trim levels (standard and deluxe). They are great hats and can take a heck of a lot of punishment!

Re: A nice compliment

I'm not a fan of those "Stingy Brim" plaid fedoras you can get at Target and other stores. I have an experience to share...... I was working at a camp for kids with serious and terminal illnesses last weekend. We were getting ready for the "Stage Night" talent show. I was wearing...

Re: Indiana's hat care

Indy gearheads beat the Trekkies easily!! :whip: Just think you can actually wear Indy's gear out and it you can actually use it. Try walking the streets dressed up as Captain Kirk!! I think the Indy's hat care references were placed in the "Army of the Dead" to help the average Indy fan u...

Re: The Federation IV Display Page

My oldest Fed 4 (a deluxe) was much easier to bash with the use of heavy steam.

The hat started out very stiff and difficult to work with. But after nearly 2 years of wearing and abuse the hat has soften very much, as well as lightened up.

Re: NOT an Indy hat!!!

I agree with the comments that a fedora is one of the most masculine articles of clothing a man can wear. I think that a fedora blends well with modern fashion. For example tomorrow I will head out to Black Friday shop in my Fed4, a tee shirt, brown cargo shorts, and sneakers. I have received lots o...

Re: The life of your fedora

I thought about rotating the hats but I tend to wear my fedora the way people wear their favorite baseball hats. Daily and through all weather conditions. I certainly haven't babied the Fed (with the exception of NOT picking it up by the pinch!!) [-X The Henry does have a more SA look than my own hy...

The life of your fedora

Happy Thanksgiving COW!! Does anyone have a guess as to how many re-blocks a Fed 4 deluxe could take over the course of its life?? Like all of you I am amassing a collection of vintage hats, (many of which I wear) but I have a brown Fed 4 (Styled in a hybrid LC, KOTCS look) that has become my truste...

Re: Got my Henry!

You know, I had no problem in creasing the Henry Marc sent to me. The felt is very soft which made it easy for me to do. I had no trouble with the creases staying put either. But, compared to the thin felted HJs, I can see where one would note a difference. As with any hat that contains rabbit, I h...

Re: How does this happen??

Thanks for the correction, yeah I did order a hat from Steve so it would be an AB instead of an AB Deluxe. I think as a topper to my collection I'd love to have a Herbert Johnson. I love the fact that the hat has so much history behind it, not only with Raiders but the history behind the comp...

How does this happen??

Hi COW, I have been observing and reading here at COW for over a year now, a member since June and this is my first post. My first fedora was from Delmonico Hatters which turned out to be rather innacurate and not very durable. (I'm pretty sure it was a Dorfman Pacific) It has been distressed, re-sh...
