Re: paying for whips

I've purchased a few whips, and sold a few as well. I've never asked for payment before sending a picture of the finished product, and I've never sent payment without seeing a finished product. I can understand asking for a small deposit (materials for whips can be pricey), but to pay for something...

Re: Not exactly Indy related but.....

Wow. It appears that Mr. Wheatley did very good work! I agree that the whips at handmadewhips.com look very similar to Mr. Wheatley's. As for the handle attachment, I can't speak for how each whipmaker does his specifically, but usually there is more handle than what you can see in the finished pro...

Re: 8ft Skip's two-tone with wood handle bullwhip

Skip, thanks for answering about the handle. I wouldn't be able to answer myself. BTW, Is there some particular dressing for this kind of wood please? Maybe simple bee wax? JP The best thing for the wood is a light coat of tongue oil every once and a wile.. After I dress my whips I just rub the han...

Re: Whip Show at Space Center Houston NASA

I should think that one could crack a whip in zero-g (but getting it in a good throwing position might prove interesting), however, it would be impossible to do in the vacuum of space (no air, no sonic boom...). Franco is right about the vacuum... When a whip moves through the air, pressure waves a...

Re: Review of Whip Basics - A Beginners Guide - Vol. I-III

Whip Basics I, II, III I just received my copies of the new whip basics DVD’s last night, and I must say that I’m impressed with the quality of the production and the teaching method. I have the “classic version” of Vol I & II and I really liked them. The first thing I did when I received the DV...

By the way it’s good to see you here Skip, Welcome :) Dan Good to be here Dan, Thanx. :D @Caber Better not enough than to much to start out with... Re: NEAD DESPRIT HELP WITH PLATING MY STOCK WHIP HANDLE!!!

if I may butt in here... it sounds like that you may be taking the wrong strand when you come around the cane. For an 8plait you have 4 strands on each side. start with the 4 strands on your left side take the last of this 4 (the one in the back) and bring it to the right behind the cane and go unde...

Re: My latest work

Thanks! That's actually a very big compliment for me hehehe:-) I used to have this attitude of 8 plait is a poorman's whip, but ever since I saw what Skip does with 8 plait, I have changed my mind. These look nice with the eight plait and I have no regrets about making that choice AT ALL! Thanx Fra...
